  • Patent number: 11009370
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and to a safety circuit for safe limiting of consumption of electrical power in an electrical component of a field device. The consumption of the electrical power is controlled by separating the input path from a superordinated unit by the safety circuit according to a predetermined clocking, wherein the clocking is controlled by a control signal. In the case of no control signal, the power limiting is assured by separating the input path from the superordinated unit. In the case of a defective control signal, the power is limited by the safety circuit to a maximum power. Due to this type of control, the operating temperature of the electrical component remains always below a critical temperature. The field device may thus be used in explosion-endangered regions.

  • Patent number: 7113375
Abstract: A circuit configuration for monitoring and/or for regulating supply voltages. The circuit enables at least two supply voltages (U12) or (U22) that are produced by means of two feed-ins (Q1, Q2) and that are provided for consumer circuits (V1, V2) to be monitored and limited simultaneously. To this end, the circuit configuration comprises a corresponding voltage monitoring electronics unit which detects the supply voltages (U12, U22) and compares them with associated tolerance values (?U12, ?U22). The voltage monitoring electronics unit also provides a control signal (y) which signals whether the first supply voltage (U12) is lower than the associated tolerance value (?U12). The control signal (y) is used to control a shunt electronics unit through which a shunt current (IS) passes temporarily.

The voltage monitoring electronics unit (1) also provides a control signal (y) which signals whether the first supply voltage (U12) is lower than the associated tolerance value (&Dgr;U12). The control signal (y) is used to control a shunt electronics unit (2) through which a shunt current (IS) passes temporarily.

  • Patent number: 5363341
Abstract: The invention discloses a level measuring device which can be made up from components. It comprises a sonic or ultrasonic transducer which is arranged in a first housing and forms a self-contained functional unit; the electrical circuit arranged in a further separate housing forms a second functional unit. The functional units are so constructed that they can be assembled from the various components to a complete level measuring device in accordance with the required use conditions by arrangement of a steel plate above the sonic or ultrasonic transducer, or by potting with a commercially usual potting composition, or the selection of two different similar housings for receiving the sonic or ultrasonic transducer or the arrangement of selectively different but dimensionally identical sonic or ultrasonic transducers, and the selective mounting by means of a loose flange on a container, or by means of a suspension bracket in the interior thereof or above a drain.

  • Patent number: 4850213
Abstract: A filling level measuring device for measuring the filling level of explosive media in a container is provided. The device includes a sonic or ultrasonic transducer and a mounting flange for mounting the filling level measuring device on the container. The separation necessary between the explosive media within the container and the electrical operating means of the filling level measuring device is effected by a planar homogeneous metallic surface of the mounting flange which faces the container interior and which includes a diaphragm of the sonic or ultrasonic transducer. To form the diaphragm in the mounting flange on its side remote from the container interior, the mounting flange is formed to include a cylindrical recess whose axis of symmetry coincides with that of the mounting flange. The sonic or ultrasonic transducer is disposed substantially within the recess formed in the mounting flange.

  • Patent number: 4768615
Abstract: The acoustic transducer system includes an electroacoustic transducer and a flexural oscillator plate which is coupled to the electroacoustic transducer. The flexural oscillator plate is so constructed that at the system operating frequency it is stimulated to flexural oscillations of a higher order at which on the flexural oscillator plate node lines form between which antinode zones oscillating alternately in opposite phase lie. To influence the sound radiation of the flexural oscillator plate a sonic beam shaper is provided. The sonic beam shaper has soundwave barriers which are impermeable for soundwaves and which lie spaced from the flexural oscillator plate and acoustically decoupled therefrom in front of first antinode zones oscillating in equal phase with each other, and soundwave-permeable regions which lie between the soundwave barriers in front of the remaining second antinode zones oscillating in opposite phase to the first antinode zones.
