  • Publication number: 20220256816
Abstract: A bird feeder comprises a main body including a food hopper, and a removable tray. The tray may be removed from the main body, and when the tray is removed apertures at the bottom of the main body are automatically closed, sealing the main body and preventing food from falling out. When the tray is attached, the apertures are automatically opened. The tray of the bird feeder can therefore be removed very easily for cleaning. Another tray may be provided for installation on the main body while the first tray is being cleaned. Cleaning may be for example by soaking in disinfectant for a few days, or drying out over a similar period. These treatments are effective to kill Trichomonas gallinae, thus limiting the spread of trichomonosis among garden birds, especially greenfinches.

  • Publication number: 20220049876
Abstract: A solar receiver and associated components, systems and methods for use with a concentrated solar power plant. The solar receiver including a heat-absorbing solid body, an optical arrangement configured to direct light on to the heat-absorbing solid body, and a heat exchanger cowl proximate the heat-absorbing solid body arranged to provide a flow of working fluid over the rotor. In use, the light from the optical arrangement heats the heat-absorbing solid body which in turn heats the working fluid proximate the heat-absorbing solid body. The heat-absorbing solid body is movable relative to the optical arrangement from a first position to a second position such that the heat-absorbing solid body does not overheat.

  • Patent number: 10088263
Abstract: Rotational motion generates velocity of a mass wherein the mass' release from the rotating system, becoming a projectile, and subsequent impact can result in cutting, abrasion, mixing of chemicals, coating, and other surface and bulk volume effects including the transfer of momentum. Structures and devices are used to insert a mass into a rotating device. While inside the rotating device the mass gains velocity. Transitioning from the rotational system to a stationary surface is accomplished with a minimum of velocity loss by selecting trajectories, air flows, and surface finishes to reduce energy losses in the mass' transition onto the stationary surface and info a fixed stationary guide tube, and ultimately to an impact point. Single and multiple conduits, stationary and rotating, can be used to accomplish complex chemistry and physics affects.

  • Patent number: 6058424
Abstract: The present invention allows a multimedia session to be transferred from one application server to another in the event that the original application server fails, and also allows a session to be cooperatively transferred from one application server to another, even though the original application server is still available for use. The new application server may be in the same multimedia computer (i.e. the same physical machine) as the original application server, or the new application server may be in a different computer. The session is transferred without losing existing resources, and callbacks that occur during the session takeover process are not lost. An application server which owns a multimedia session may enable that session for takeover, by using an Application Programming Interface (API). The API returns session takeover data which must be available to a new application server in the event of a takeover.
