  • Publication number: 20250242089
Abstract: A medical device includes an elongated body. At least a portion of the elongated body includes a polymer blend of a polyphthalamide (PPA) and a cyclic olefin copolymer (COC) (PPA/COC). In some medical devices, the COC includes a copolymer of ethylene and norbornene having high stiffness and low moisture uptake, and the PPA includes some amount of renewable carbon content. In some medical devices that include a catheter, a higher stiffness proximal portion of the catheter includes the polymer blend, and a lower stiffness distal portion of the catheter includes an inner liner, an outer jacket, and a structural support member between the inner liner and outer jacket.

  • Publication number: 20250134684
Abstract: A stent includes a plurality of unit cells. Within each unit cell, a first set of struts define a first plurality of apices and a second set of struts define a second plurality of apices, wherein a first strut and a second strut of the first set of struts define a first apex with a first apex angle, and the second strut and a third strut of the first set of struts define a second apex with a second, different apex angle. Within each unit cell, a fourth strut and a fifth strut of the second set of struts define a third apex with the first apex angle, and the fifth strut and the sixth strut define a fourth apex with the second apex angle. Each apex of the first plurality of apices is circumferentially offset from another apex of the second plurality of apices.

  • Publication number: 20240180561
Abstract: An embolic material delivery device in accordance with at least some embodiments of the present technology achieves a high pressure rating with a small wall thickness. The device includes an elongate conduit body configured to extend intravascularly toward a treatment location including an aneurysm. The conduit body defines an axial lumen through which viscous embolic material is conveyed toward the aneurysm while at least a portion of the liquid embolic material is at very high pressure (e.g., 9,000 psi or greater). The conduit body includes a metal hypotube coaxially disposed around the axial lumen. The hypotube includes cuts configured to increase a flexibility of the conduit body and bridges between the cuts. The conduit body further includes an elastomeric jacket extending around at least a portion of the hypotube. An average wall thickness of the conduit body is within a range of 0.005 to 0.007 inches.

  • Patent number: 7846147
Abstract: A method including introducing a treatment device via a transluminal route within a blood vessel to a treatment site including a vulnerable plaque; and dispensing a treatment agent including a compound having a property that tends to modify a property of a content of the vulnerable plaque. A kit including a first treatment agent including a property capable of modifying a property of a content of a vulnerable plaque; and a different second treatment agent. A composition including a treatment agent capable of modifying the mobility of a content of a vulnerable plaque in a form and concentration suitable for dispensing through a catheter into a blood vessel.
