  • Publication number: 20150178652
Abstract: There are provided systems and method for targeted assistance on user check-in. A service location may provide beacons at or near the location to determine if a user approaching or at the service location has any experience with the service location. For example, a merchant may place a beacon at the entrance to a store to determine if a user has shopped at the store. Thus, when a user is in proximity to the beacon, a user device of the user and the beacon may establish a check-in. Through a user identifier communicated to the beacon, the service provider at the location may determine a user history, such as a number of visits by the user to the service location. The service location may then provide targeted assistance, such as information, personal help, item searches, etc., based on the user's history with the merchant.

  • Publication number: 20150134374
Abstract: There are provided systems and method for multiple service check-in through a single service center check-in. A user may utilize a user device to check-in to a service center, such as a mall, airport, or hotel, offering a plurality of services. As the user moves throughout the service center, the user device may connect to beacons, such as Bluetooth Low Energy beacons. The user device may be previously checked-in with these beacons, or may be quickly checked-in when in proximity to the beacons without the user checking-in to each beacon manually. Thus, if the user is in proximity to a service, the user device may receive advertisements, information, etc. for the service. Additionally, since the user will already be checked-in to the service, the merchant and/or service center may complete transactions for the user with the service.

  • Publication number: 20150126119
Abstract: Systems and methods for transmitting beacon messages are described. A beacon message is transmitted from a first beacon device and broadcast to an area within a transmission range of the first beacon device. A mobile device receives and stores the message. When the mobile device is out of the range of the first beacon device and within the range of a second beacon device, the message is transmitted to the second beacon device and broadcast by the second beacon device.

  • Publication number: 20150095228
Abstract: Systems and methods for facilitating financial transactions by using images from a real-world environment are described. By obtaining the image and information associated with the image, a user may supplement the user's view of the real-world in real-time. For example, the images can be used to determine the status of shoppers, to buy products from television or the Internet, make payments to others, shop at a physical store, or check-in a user. A user's view of the real-world can be supplemented with information associated with the image.

  • Publication number: 20150087426
Abstract: There are responsible and irresponsible people in this world. Irresponsible or unreliable individuals often refuse to perform tasks because it is inconvenient, or they find no benefit to completing the task. Methods and systems that provide incentives and rewards to motivate these types of individuals to complete a task are described. In a game that supports multiple players, an administrator and players are designated. The administrator provides a list of tasks to the players. The players complete the tasks and indicate that the tasks are completed. The administrator provides a real-world reward, such as money, for completing the tasks. The reward is then deposited into the players' accounts.

  • Publication number: 20150081544
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided according to one or more embodiments for conducting transactions based on actions or gestures such as physical interactions between users each having a user device. In that regard, gestures such as a handshake or other physical interactions between users may be detected to determine transaction details such as a payment amount or a value to be transferred from one user via a user device to a recipient via a recipient device. The amount or value may then be transferred based on one or more determinations including proximity between the user or the user device and the recipient or the recipient device, a specific action or gesture, voice commands, facial recognition, preset transfer instructions, a unique identifier, or other close-quarter determinations.

  • Publication number: 20140289029
Abstract: A service provider system remembers feedback by a user when the user selects an offer, a presented option, or other content from a page or display on a user device. The user is then taken to a new page or screen with details about the offer, option, or other content. When the user goes back to the original page or screen, the page is revised based on the user feedback. For example, a dialog box may pop up over the selected offer to ask the user whether the user accepted the offer or is not interested in the offer. If so, the offer disappears and subsequent pages may not show the selected offer again.

  • Publication number: 20140289047
Abstract: When a user launches a service provider app on a user device, but before authentication, the user may be presented with an ad or offer, which is dependent on and relevant to the user. The service provider determines which ad to present to the user based on factors such as time of day, time of year, location of user, speed of travel of user, user purchase history, user favorites, saved offers, size of merchant, user actions from previous ads, expiration dates of saved offers, etc. Once an ad is determined, the ad is presented to the user on the user device. In one embodiment, the ad is displayed when the user launches an app of the service provider or accesses the service provider site, such as through a mobile browser. the user does not have to launch an app or access a site for an ad to be displayed. After viewing the ad, the user can accept an offer from the ad or otherwise make a purchase based on the ad, such as by logging into the user account (e.g., entering a password or PIN) and making a payment.

  • Publication number: 20140267436
Abstract: Techniques are described for displaying projects of images as “collages”. Collages differ from conventional thumbnail displays of projects in that collages display an entire project as if the project were a single image. Consequently, collages better convey the characteristics of projects as a whole, while de-emphasizing the distinctiveness of individual images within the projects. When displayed as collages, side-by-side comparisons may be readily performed between projects as a whole. For example, a single display may include collages for multiple projects, thereby allowing viewers to quickly tell how the projects differ in a variety of ways, including but not limited to size of shoot or density of shoot, dominant color, mood, time of day, bracketed shots or bursts, location and subject matter. The content of the collage for a project is based on the individual images that belong to the project.

  • Publication number: 20140108240
Abstract: A display shows who a user owes money to on one side of the display and who the user is owed money by on the other side of the display. The parties are shown with a visual representation (e.g., a photo or text), a name, and an amount. The more someone owes or is owed, the farther they are shown extending from the center-line (or 0 owed/is owed line). The user can select a person/entity that the user owes money to by tapping and dragging the visual image and then moving that selection to the same row as a person/entity that owes money to the user. This allows the user to pass some of the money owed to the user to pay the person/entity that the user owes money to. Once confirmed, the tree is updated. The payment provider may facilitate the money exchange between the two selected parties and the user.

  • Publication number: 20140101552
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a computer readable medium storing a media editing application for creating multimedia presentations. The application includes a graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI includes a composite display area for displaying graphical representations of a set of media clips that are part of a composite presentation. Each graphical representation of a particular media clip is assigned to a particular row in the composite display area, where each row corresponds to a particular track in the composite presentation. Some embodiments of the GUI include a compression tool for assigning the graphical representations to new rows so as to reduce blank space in the composite display area, where the assignment of the graphical representations to new rows eliminates the correspondence between the rows and the tracks. Some embodiments include a collapsing tool for reducing a size of graphical representations in the composite display area.

  • Publication number: 20140089195
Abstract: Photos of recent or prior payees are shown on a user device, such as a smart phone or tablet. The user or payer can select a photo, enter an amount to send, and confirm a payment. The payment provider then processes the payment with minimal input from the payer. Because the photos are of recent or previous payees, the user is able to make a person to person payment with less steps than conventional person to person payments.

  • Publication number: 20140089154
Abstract: An online account provider displays cards associated with a user account according to the dominant color of the card, along with a corresponding color spectrum to enable the user to select a card based on the color. The user may see available cards linked to the user's account within the user's online or digital wallet or account along a first column based on color. A second column shows text information about the cards, such as name, type, balance, account number, etc. A third column shows a color spectrum with a scroll bar that enables the user to scroll to a particular color and see cards in and around that color in the spectrum. The color spectrum is built from the displayed cards, so that the color spectrum may be different for different users with different cards.
