  • Patent number: 4696960
Abstract: A composition of triglycidylisocyanurate, having reduced tackiness, consists of a solid mixture of at least triglycidylisocyanurate and a non-reactive polyester.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 18, 1985
Date of Patent: September 29, 1987

  • Patent number: 4276419
Abstract: An improved process for the preparation of pyridines and/or hydrogenated pyridines that have been substituted with a hydrocarbon group at one or more carbon atoms, .gamma.-cyanoketone, in a gaseous phase and in the presence of hydrogen, is passed in a reaction zone over a first catalyst containing a catalytically active metal or compound of a metal selected from the group copper, silver, gold, iron, nickel, cobalt, ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, osmium, iridium and platinum to form a reaction mixture. A hydrogen-containing gas is separated from the reaction mixture, passed over a second catalyst containing a catalytically active metal or compound of a metal selected from the group iron, nickel and cobalt at a temperature of between 300.degree. and 800.degree. C., and the hydrogen-containing gas so treated is recycled to the reaction zone.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 19, 1979
Date of Patent: June 30, 1981
    Assignee: Stamicarbon, B.V.
Inventors: Egidius J. M. Verheijen, Charles H. Geersheuvels
  • Patent number: 4189585
Abstract: A process for preparing pyridine with 2,6 lutidine as by-product, by catalytic demethylation of .alpha.-picoline in the gaseous phase with steam is disclosed wherein the demethylation step is conducted at a temperature of 250.degree.-360.degree. C. using a metallic hydrogenation catalyst at a contact time of about 0.5 to 15 seconds. Pyridine is a known important organic base with many uses, such as denaturant for alcohols and solvent in the rubber and paint industries.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 21, 1978
Date of Patent: February 19, 1980
    Assignee: Stamicarbon, B.V.
    Inventors: Egidius J. M. Verheijen, Nicolaas L. G. Duys
  • Patent number: 4158095
Abstract: An improved process for the preparation of 5-(4-aminobutyl)-hydantoin and/or 2-ureido-6-amino-hexanoic acid amide by the liquid phase hydrogenation of 5-(3-cyanopropyl)-hydantoin and/or 2-ureido-5-cyano-pentanoic acid amide in the presence of ammonia, hydrogen and a hydrogenation catalyst. Catalyst dissolution into the reaction medium is reduced by utilizing a hydrogenation catalyst in a solid bed form and causing the compounds to be hydrogenated to pass through such solid bed catalyst.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 26, 1978
Date of Patent: June 12, 1979
    Assignee: Stamicarbon, B.V.
    Inventors: Franciscus H. A. M. J. Vandenbooren, Egidius J. M. Verheijen
  • Patent number: 4119782
Abstract: 5-(4-Aminobutyl) hydantoin is prepared by hydrogenation of 5-(3-cyanopropyl) hydantoin in the liquid phase with a catalyst and ammonia in the presence of greater than 0.4 up to about 2.0 of a dissolved alkali hydroxide per mole of hydantoin to be hydrolyzed. Use of the stated quantity of alkali hydroxide avoids catalyst loss by dissolution yet maintains hydrogenation efficiency.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 4, 1977
Date of Patent: October 10, 1978
    Assignee: Stamicarbon, B.V.
    Inventors: Erik Konijnenberg, Franciscus H. A. M. J. Vandenbooren, Egidius J. M. Verheijen
