  • Patent number: 4674161
Abstract: A piezo-electric acoustic transducer has two strip-shaped terminal leads for connection of an acoustic-electric transducer plate to an amplifier assembly of the microphone. Previously the two leads were manually soldered to Griplet soldering rivets on the component side of the circuit boards with the addition of soldering tin, and were insulated from the housing by means of an insulating ring. In the present invention, the terminal strips are directly soldered to the connector paths of a flat amplifier assembly and are electrically insulated from the housing by means of a tab. With this type of automated soldering and insulation, a work piece carrier is provided with a plurality of devices for the mounting of the flat assembly on the carrier plate.

  • Patent number: 4667403
Abstract: A method and system to produce card modules by assembling and soldering components on a printed circuit board, characterized by retrieving specific printed circuit board-type from a printed circuit board storage having several types in response to a command signal, reading an identification code on the printed circuit board to obtain information concerning the board and then in response to this information, conveying the circuit board through selective processing stations for assembling components on the circuit board, through-stations for soldering the components on the circuit board to form an electronic card module and then through-stations for testing the card module in response to information obtained during reading. The testing station can also include one or more stations for performing the steps of fault-locating and for repairing located faults as necessary.

  • Patent number: 4631436
Abstract: A transducer plate comprises electrically-conductive material on both sides and carries a respective piezoceramic on each side which has a respective electrode. The piezoceramics are electrically connected in parallel and are connected to the transducer plate via a respective, insulating adhesive layer. For the purpose of contacting the two inner electrodes, a passage is provided in the transducer plate and a connector ribbon is located between the adhesive layer and the inner electrode of one side and extends through the passage 2 to a position between the inner electrode and the adhesive layer of the other side. Only a single connector ribbon is therefore required for the pressure contacting of the two inner electrodes. Apparatus for threading the connector ribbon through the passage comprises bed dies having guide channels for the connector ribbon, whereby the connector ribbon is threaded through the passage either by way of a hob extruding die or by way of a curved-shaped surface of a guide channel.

  • Patent number: 4598459
Abstract: An installation for manually assemblying electrical and electronic components on a printed circuit board using a display device for optically identifying the respective assembly positions of the component on the board, at least one magazine with a removable position for supplying the required component and an arithmetic unit for controlling the display device and selection of the particular magazine characterized by the magazine being designed to carry all components for a large number of different printed circuit boards and an identification device which is connected to the arithmetic unit to identify the particular circuit board which is being supplied, sending a signal to the arithmetic unit to identify the board so that the arithmetic unit provides the necessary assembly program.

  • Patent number: 4391764
Abstract: A method of manufacturing plastic parts which are otherwise identical but which display different indicia such as typewriter keys which comprises the steps of injection molding a plurality of identical parts of a plastic having a filler material capable of undergoing a color change and thereafter exposing individually the identical parts to a radiation source for changing the color of localized portions of the part to display the indicia while retaining the molded color of remaining portions wherein the plastic is polyacetal and the filler is carbon black or graphite.

  • Patent number: 4327265
Abstract: A method is disclosed for producing one or more contact connections at solder locations between a lacquer-insulated wire and corresponding contact member of an electrical component by use of soft solder. The solder location is heated to a temperature sufficient to melt the lacquer insulation of the wire off and also to insure a secure electrical connection. Both temperature and electrical contact between the wire and contact member are sensed so as to switch off the heat source at the conclusion of soldering.

  • Patent number: 4307047
Abstract: A method of manufacturing parts which are otherwise identical but which display different indicia such as a typewriter or the like keys which comprises the steps of injection molding a plurality of identical parts of a plastic having a filler material capable of undergoing a color change, and thereafter exposing individually the identical parts to a radiation source for changing the color of localized portions of the part to display the indicia while retaining the molded color of remaining portions.

  • Patent number: 4292636
Abstract: The invention relates to a passive reply device for use, for example, in automatic wireless transmission of multi-place numerical information between it and an active interrogation device which are movable with respect to one another, particularly for track-bound transport apparatus, which comprises a high frequency line section having a high frequency antenna at one end, and short circuited at its opposite end, and a plurality of high frequency coaxial resonators extending transversely to and carried by such line section, with a number of resonators being proportional to the number of places of the information to be transmitted. The resonators consist of individual elements which are inserted in appropriate bores of the line section with a press fit. The tuning of the individual resonators is determined by the particular shape of the bottom wall of each resonator, with the resonators otherwise being similar in construction.

  • Patent number: 4241570
Abstract: A method and apparatus for separating twisted wires, such as switching cables, has a rotatably driven central shaft to which a cable to be untwisted is co-rotatably mounted so that the cable ends are free. The cable is rotated inside of a stationary protective housing, having paddles movably mounted in the interior of the housing to momentarily engage the free cable ends as the cable rotates. The wire ends are thus diverted from the rotating plane at least twice per revolution, and are thereby stimulated to oscillate such that untwisting results. The angle of inclination of the paddles is selectively adjustable to adapt to cables of various numbers of twisted pairs and differing wire gauges.

  • Patent number: 3990389
Abstract: A method of applying ignition lines to the interior surface of glass walled surge voltage arrestors and an apparatus for the application thereof. The surge lines are applied by first roughing the interior surface at least in the area in which the ignition line is to be applied, and thereafter applying a graphite ignition line by rubbing a graphite pencil on the roughened surface.
