  • Patent number: 10718643
Abstract: A suction module for a hand-held power tool includes a motor-driven fan wheel, an intake channel for sucking in dust-laden air, and a collecting container for dust. A flow sensor has a sensor surface, which is formed of plastic and is arranged in the intake channel, an electric field meter facing the sensor surface for determining the electrostatic field strength on the sensor surface, and an evaluating unit for determining a flow rate of dust-laden air on the basis of the determined electrostatic field strength.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: July 21, 2020
    Assignee: Hilti Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Egon Koenigbauer, Hans Appel
  • Patent number: 10413974
Abstract: A method to control a power tool (1), especially a handheld core drilling machine, includes a drive (10) to drive a tool (30) and a control unit (40) for when a workpiece (W) is being processed. The method encompasses the following method steps: setting the rotational speed of the drive at a first value; measuring a first power consumption value for the drive; setting a threshold value for the power consumption of the drive; and increasing the rotational speed of the drive to a second value if the power consumption of the drive (10) exceeds the threshold value due to an increase in the drive load. The power tool includes a drive (10) to drive a tool (3) and a control unit (40) to control at least the rotational speed of the drive.

  • Publication number: 20160184952
Abstract: A method is provided for controlling a power tool (1) when a material (W) is being worked, including the steps: the rotational speed of a drive (20) of the power tool is set to a first value; a first temperature value is measured; the first temperature value is compared to a pre-specified threshold value; the rotational speed of the drive (20) is reduced from the first value to a second value if the first temperature value exceeds the pre-specified threshold value for a pre-specified first period of time; a second temperature value is measured; the second temperature value is compared to the pre-specified threshold value; and the rotational speed of the drive (20) is raised from the second value to the first value if the second temperature value has fallen below the pre-specified threshold value for a pre-specified second period of time.

  • Patent number: 9073160
Abstract: A suction device with a hand-held power drill is disclosed. The suction device has a housing and a locking mechanism for fastening the housing to a housing of the hand-held power drill. The suction device furthermore has a fan motor and a controller for the fan motor. The controller contains a sensor for detecting the operating state of an electric motor of the hand-held power tool. The controller is configured to activate the fan motor when the electric motor is in a rotating state of operation.
