  • Publication number: 20230328556
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for measurement of cells and determination of a non-standalone (NSA) coverage status using an NSA coverage database. The NSA coverage database may indicate candidate frequencies of New Radio (NR) cells that provide NSA coverage corresponding to a given Long Term Evolution (LTE) serving cell. The NSA coverage database may also indicate whether a system information block 1 (SIB1) has been previously received on a candidate frequency. The user equipment (UE) may perform measurement of candidate frequencies using the NSA coverage database, and may identify cases where a cell not providing NSA coverage has a same candidate frequency as a cell providing NSA coverage using the indication of whether SIB1 has been previously received on a candidate frequency.

  • Patent number: 8498416
Abstract: A mobile device can save time by validating a stored message, which was previously unreadable, by utilizing a related message, which can be received at a much quicker rate. In accordance with some aspects, the mobile device can save time by validating the stored message by reading a new related message and subsequently re-reading or descrambling the stored message or its CRC. The first attempt to read the message might not be successful due to a scrambling information change or due to other reasons. The reason for the failure of the first attempt to read the message may be determined based on whether a later attempt to read the message with the same or a different scrambling information is successful.

  • Patent number: 6922435
Abstract: Techniques to generate a pseudo-random number (PN) sequence at a desired phase using “masking” to adjust the phase of the PN sequence in coarse increments (e.g., 64-PN chip increments) to account for a large phase adjustment. Slewing may then be used to adjust the PN phase in fine increments (e.g., ? PN chip increments) to obtain the desired phase. Prior to each scan for the pilot from a particular base station, a PN mask corresponding to a phase closest to the start of a new search window is applied to a PN generator to obtain an initial phase for the PN sequence. From the initial phase obtained by the applied mask, the PN generator is then slewed to the start of the search window. The masking can be used to obtain a large phase adjustment in less time, which is likely to improve search performance.

Slewing may then be used to adjust the PN phase in fine increments (e.g., ⅛ PN chip increments) to obtain the desired phase. Prior to each scan for the pilot from a particular base station, a PN mask corresponding to a phase closest to the start of a new search window is applied to a PN generator to obtain an initial phase for the PN sequence.
