  • Patent number: 5214461
Abstract: A camera for producing either two or four separate photographic images selectively on a single sheet of film has a fixed wall for dividing the exposable area of the film into two equal areas and a pair of movable walls acting in combination with the fixed wall for dividing the film into four equal areas. The movable walls are pivotably mounted and move from the two picture mode to the four picture mode merely by rotation of the camera from a vertical disposition to a horizontal disposition and vice versa. The camera includes a pair of lenses controlled to move in accordance with the disposition of the camera so that in the two picture mode the lenses are disposed with the center of each lens aligned with the center of each half of the exposable area of the film, and when in the four picture mode the lenses relocate and are disposed with the center of each lens aligned with the center of each one quarter of the exposable area of the film, first with one pair of such areas and then with the other pair.

  • Patent number: 4659202
Abstract: A reflex camera has a mirror mounted at a fixed angle for receiving image rays from a lens and reflecting the rays onto a focusing screen, the mirror and focusing screen being mounted on a slide plate moveable out of the path between the lens and the shutter of the camera. The slide plate is supported by linear bearings for movement along guide rods in a linear path. A motor may be actuated to rotate a cam which drives a pulley wheel during a portion of the cycle of the cam, and which releases the pulley wheel during the remainder of the cycle. The pulley wheel is operatively connected to the slide plate and when the pulley wheel is driven by the cam the slide plate is pulled against the opposition of springs into the focusing position of the camera. When the pulley wheel is released by the cam the springs rapidly propel the slide plate to the picture taking position.

  • Patent number: 4577947
Abstract: A film magazine for cameras which may be loaded with a long roll of film on the supply spool and which may wind the film into shorter length units into a cassette or the like on the take-up spool when desired for removal of the cassette from the magazine without exposing the film remaining on the supply spool. The magazine includes a container in which the supply spool and take-up spool is mounted and a second housing is fastened in the container and disposed about the take-up spool. A light trap in the second housing permits film to travel in the path from the supply spool to the take-up spool. A cover closes the container against the admission of light while film is disposed therein, and the cover has a port providing access into the second housing. A closure member may be selectively disposed within the port and may be secured to the housing to close the take-up spool from admission of light and to permit removal of the take-up spool without removing the cover.
