    Abstract: To control an electrostatic precipitator towards minimum energy consumption at a given efficiency the dust content in the exit air of the precipitator is measured and the efficiency of the precipitator regulated upwardly or downwardly accordingly. Regulation is carried out in accordance with a selected one of a plurality of predefined stored strategies by a central unit which controls the parameters of the independent power supplies to the precipitator sections.
