  • Patent number: 10143509
Abstract: The outer periphery of a head section (11e) of a medical screw (11) is provided with an inverse external screw thread (11h) that is formed in the opposite screw direction from that of a screw thread (11b) provided to a tip section (11a). An inverse internal screw thread (14a) provided to the leading end of a rod-shaped body constituting an extraction jig (14) is rotated in the opposite direction from the screw direction of the screw thread (11b) so as to be screwed onto the inverse external screw thread (11h) and thereby integrate the screw (11) and the extraction jig (14). The screw (11) is gently extracted from the bone fracture site (D) and is removed from the body by rotating the extraction jig in the reverse direction from the insertion direction of the screw (11).

  • Publication number: 20160022339
Abstract: Provided is a medical screw which can be readily extracted from bones after fusion of bone fractures or at replacement of the screw. The medical screw 11 has a screw thread 11b extending on the outer surface of a distal end portion of the screw 11 and an inner reverse thread extending on the inner surface of a proximal end portion 11d of the screw 11 and made in the opposite direction to the thread direction of the screw thread 11b. An outer reverse thread at a distal end portion of the removal jig 17 is engaged with the inner reverse thread of the screw 11, while being rotated in the opposite direction to the thread direction of the screw thread 11b. This engagement integrates the screw 11 with the removal jig 17. The removal jig 17 is then rotated in the opposite direction to the drilled direction of the screw 11 to detach the screw thread 11b of the screw 11 from the bone fractured region D.

  • Publication number: 20140163556
Abstract: A graduated guide pin for selecting a screw for connecting a fractured bone is formed by a pin-like main body 11 of a radiotransparent metal and ring-like members 12 of a radioopaque metal. The ring-like members are arranged on an outer surface of the main body such that successive members are separated from each other by a distance equal to that of the ring-like members. On an X-ray image, by counting the number of dark portions corresponding to the ring-like members, a length of the fractured bone is measured, and a screw 20 having a suitable length is selected.

  • Patent number: 7008391
Abstract: A tool for treatment of an ingrown toenail includes a tubular member having a length of about 1–2 cm and being tapered such that a diameter at a root is about 2 mm and a diameter at a tip is about 2 mm. Holes are distributed over the tubular member. The tubular member has a slit with saw-tooth edges and has a C-shaped cross section. A side edge of a nail plate is inserted into the slit and the saw-tooth edges secure the tubular member to the nail plate. A super elastic wire is inserted into one or more holes to fix the wire to the tubular member. An elastic force of the super elastic wire applied to the side edge of the nail plate is distributed substantially over a whole length of the side edge to correct the side edge into a flat shape.

  • Publication number: 20040260221
Abstract: A tool for corrective treatment of an ingrown toenail with a super elastic wire including a tubular member 1 having a length of about 1-2 cm and being tapered such that a diameter at a root is about 2 mm and a diameter at a tip is about 2 mm. A plurality of holes 4 are formed in the tubular member 1 to be distributed over a whole surface of the tubular member 1. A slit 2 is formed in the tubular member 1 by saw-tooth edges 3 such that the tubular member has a C-shaped cross section. After inserting a side edge Na of nail plate N is inserted into the tubular member 1 via the slit 2, the tubular member is compressed by a pincher and the saw-tooth edges 3 bite on the nail plate N to secure the tubular member to the nail plate N. One end of a super elastic wire 5 is inserted into one or more suitably selected holes to fix the super elastic wire to the tubular member 1 in an easy, stably and effective manner.

  • Patent number: 6095995
Abstract: The ingrown nail correcting device is to correct ingrown toenails by using a plate-like member made from a shape memorizing alloy or shape memorizing resin material. A plate-like member (10) formed from a shape memorizing alloy or shape memorizing resin material is preliminarily made to memorize a specified shape at a specified temperature. The plate-like member (10) is bent in accordance with the bent portions of an ingrown nail (12) of a big toe (11) at room temperature, and adhesively bonded to the surface of the ingrown nail (12) with the aid of an adhesive agent. The atmospheric temperature is elevated to the specified temperature, whereby the ingrown nail (12) is corrected by the restoring force of the plate-like member (10) directed toward the arrows..quadrature.

  • Patent number: 5942822
Abstract: An electric motor structure is shown in which a yoke supporting an armature shaft is fixedly secured to a bracket with set bolts passing through the yoke in the axial direction and in which the distances between a pair of brushes and a pair of internal terminals connected thereto are substantially equal to each other. In a base unit, set bolt through holes for allowing the penetration of a pair of set bolts and a pair of brush holders are disposed on diameter lines perpendicular to each other, and further, a pair of internal terminal plates are disposed to straddle the outer circumference of one set bolt. The inserting tip portion of a coupler unit equipped with external terminal plates electrically connected to the internal terminal plates is branched into two sections. When the coupler unit is connected to the internal terminal plates the set bolt is positioned between the branched sections of the coupler unit.
