  • Publication number: 20040246375
Abstract: A method for processing motion information in an input interlace-scanned pixel signal is disclosed. The motion information processing method includes the steps of detecting motion information of a target pixel based on difference information of a pixel signal at the same location between two fields, outputting the motion information of the target pixel by determining the motion information of the target pixel based on the detected motion information of the target pixel in the target field and the motion information of the target pixel in a past field prior to the target field, and determining whether moving pixels of at least a predetermined number are present within an area containing a plurality of adjacent pixels containing the target pixel in the target field, wherein the moving pixel has motion information indicating a moving picture.

  • Publication number: 20040212732
Abstract: A video information processing apparatus capable of accurately making a motion decision is provided. The apparatus stores interlaced video information for a plurality of fields, generates motion information on each of the pixels contained in a plurality of fields from at least one of the interlaced video information and stored video information, and generates motion information on an interpolation pixel from motion information on pixels contained in the same field as the interpolation pixel among the generated motion information on each of the pixels. The apparatus also generates motion information on the interpolation pixel from motion information on the pixels contained in fields previous and next to the interpolation pixel at the same position as the interpolation pixel, and determines the motion information on the interpolation pixel from the motion information on these pixels.

  • Patent number: 6492982
Abstract: Disclosed are an image display control apparatus and method for outputting an image signal to a display device to thereby display an image on the display device. A resolution converter converts the resolution of image data, which is transmitted to the display device, in comparison with the resolution of the display device. The image data that has undergone the resolution conversion is reduced in amount by a reducing processor on a per-line basis or per-pixel basis in conformity with the display resolution of the display device. The image data the amount of data whereof has been reduced by the reducing processor is transmitted to the display device together with a synchronizing signal. In accordance with a select signal from a display timing generator, an image data selector operates so as to transmit control data such as a program to the display device within a transfer time in which idle time has been produced based upon the amount of the reduction in data.

  • Publication number: 20020067433
Abstract: A multi-window display apparatus is provided with such characteristics that, when a data telecast window is displayed as one window of multi-window display, the user can view the screen with improved visibility of a character area of the data telecast and the multi-window display, without disturbing the “standardized presentation” of the data telecast window intended by a telecast service provider. In scale-down display of the date telecast window, an area of character telecast display part is discriminated, the area is displayed with focus to facilitate recognition of the character part, and, in response to user's selection of the focus part on a remote controller, the character area is displayed in a scale-up state of original size.

  • Patent number: 5880702
Abstract: An image is displayed in an optimum state in accordance with the state of a display. For this purpose, an FLCD interface mounted in an information processing apparatus and an FLCD for actually displaying an image are connected through a data transfer bus for transferring image data to be displayed and a serial communication line for performing communications between them. When the FLCD detects a change in its own state, this information is supplied to a CPU of the FLCD interface through the serial communication line. An instruction for changing, e.g., the operating mode is also transmitted from the FLCD interface to the FLCD through the serial communication line.
