  • Publication number: 20050271405
Abstract: An image forming apparatus changes over an electric potential on an image bearing member in response to an attenuation region in which a remaining potential on a developing member is attenuating after a developing bias applied to the developing member has been turned off after completion of an image forming operations. Accordingly, it is possible to mitigate adherence of developer due to a large potential difference between the developing member and the image bearing member.

  • Publication number: 20040136017
Abstract: There is provided an image forming apparatus which is capable of quickly performing measurements required for obtaining a proper image density. The image forming apparatus having a plurality of image forming apparatuses performs an image density adjustment control process by carrying out a maximum density control process at a reference image forming speed, and carrying out a density gradation control process at each of the plurality of image forming speeds. Image forming conditions for carrying out the density gradation control process at speeds other than the reference image forming speed are determined by performing operation on image forming conditions determined by the maximum density control process carried out at the reference image forming speed.

  • Publication number: 20030194247
Abstract: A color image forming apparatus including image forming portions for respective color components of yellow, magenta, cyan, and black. It can be set whether a discriminating function of discriminating whether an original image is a color image or a monochromatic image is used. If the use of the discriminating function is set, a preparatory operation of forming the image in a full-color recording mode is performed before obtaining a result of the discrimination. When the result of the discrimination is monochrome, the image formation in a monochrome recording mode is executed after a shift from the full-color recording mode to the monochrome recording mode. If configured to perform the preparatory operation of forming the image in the monochrome recording mode before obtaining the result of the discrimination, when the result of the discrimination is color, the image formation in the full-color recording mode is executed after a shift from the monochrome recording mode to the full-color recording mode.

  • Patent number: 6476793
Abstract: A more-natural-looking video is reproduced and a video data having a desired color tone is formed by preserving the tone of a video as an original in color conversion at a desired ratio. To this end, a criterion color register stores color information (hue, chroma and density) for determining whether input pixel data is eligible for conversion, a target color register stores color information indicative of a target color, and a preservation degree register stores a preservation degree that determines the degree of preservation in color conversion. A color determination section determines whether the input pixel data is eligible for conversion, and the determination result is output to a color converter section. The color converter section performs color conversion to eligible pixel data according to the information stored in the criterion color register, target color register and preservation degree register, with the result of the color conversion being output.

  • Patent number: 6445871
Abstract: An image outputting apparatus is provided with a reproduction circuit for reproducing moving images from a recording medium by operating a recording-medium transport circuit, a recording circuit for recording on a recording substance an image for one picture included in the moving images by operating a feeding circuit which feeds the recording substance, and a control circuit arranged to control the feeding circuit to feed the recording substance to a predetermined position so as to shift a recording position on the recording substance, while controlling the recording-medium transport circuit to transport the recording medium to a predetermined position, and to control. the recording medium-transport circuit and the recording circuit in an interlocked manner so as to record the image for one picture on the recording substance. The arrangement of these parts in combination permits reduction in capacity of an image memory and also in processing time of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5987166
Abstract: It is an object to provide an image processing apparatus which can obtain an image reproduction that accurately corresponds to an original color when an ordinary color original is read and which can obtain an accurate marker edition result when a marker original is read. When a color scanning mode to read the color image is selected, an original ground removal by a prescan is not performed. When a marker edition scanning mode to read the marker original is selected, the original ground removal is executed. Thus, a color reproduction which accurately corresponds to the original is executed in the color scanning mode. In the marker edition scanning mode, the color recognition of the marker color is accurately performed without being influenced by the ground color.

  • Patent number: 5974171
Abstract: An image processing apparatus prevents the misdetermination of a read color and allows correct marker edition. A marker registration circuit reads and register color data marked by a predetermined color marker and a color determination circuit compares the color data registered and the read color data at the reading of the document sheet to determine a color code of the marker color. An area determination circuit determines whether an area being read belongs to a normal area, a line area or a paint area and an output color determination circuit determines a color to be outputted in accordance with the color code and the area being read.

  • Patent number: 5959644
Abstract: An image is recorded by repeating a recording operation which includes a main scanning operation performed by moving a recording head in which recording elements are arrayed in a direction perpendicular to a direction in which the recording elements are arrayed. A vertical scanning operation is performed by moving a recording medium in a direction perpendicular to the horizontal scanning direction through a distance corresponding to a recording width after the horizontal scanning operation is completed. When image data having a width narrower than a maximum recording width of the recording head is recorded, for example when a reduction recording is performed, a number of image data having the narrower width are combined so that image data having the maximum recording width can be recorded in one recording operation using the plurality of recording elements.

  • Patent number: 5768484
Abstract: A printing apparatus capable of printing a mirror image without increasing the apparatus size. Print data for one band image is stored into an image memory 7 in accordance with an address (in an ascending order) generated by an address counter 103. After storing the print data for one scanning by a print head 101 has been completed in the image memory 7, the print data is read out in accordance with an address (in an descending order) generated by an address counter 104 from the image memory 7, and outputted to the print head 101. At this time, since print data which has previously been used for printing is used no longer, the address counter 103 is set to generate an address in the descending order, and storing of the next print data is made in parallel to the printing. When the printing based on the print data in one scanning has been completed, an address counter 106 is set to generate an address in the ascending order for the next image printing.
