  • Patent number: 5223948
Abstract: An image processing apparatus and corresponding methods which include a means for determining whether image information of documents read by an image reader can be entirely stored in a storage device prior to performing image processing. The apparatus comprises, in part, an arithmetic operation component which calculates the number of sheets of the documents, (the image information of which are supplied through an image input device such as a scanner so as to be stored in a compressed state) corresponding to the residual storage capacity of a storage device. The apparatus also includes a display device for displaying the number calculated by the arithmetic operation component.

  • Patent number: 5130807
Abstract: In an image read method and device for reading an image on an original, more particularly large size original, pairs of transfer rollers are detachably provided on the insert side and the original discharge side of a platen roller, which is detachably disposed facing a platen glass. Sensors for sensing positions of an original transferred by the transfer roller pairs and the platen roller are provided. Touching and detaching between the transfer roller pairs and the platen roller are sequentially controlled according to the positions of the original as sensed by the sensor.

  • Patent number: 5124748
Abstract: The picture image processing system disclosed in the present invention comprises a control number assigning means, a job reservation means, a control information storing means, and an output means, which yields the output of paper with at least some part of the control information printed thereon together with the control number, and this system may further comprise a reservation result recognizing means and an output means constructed in such a manner as to be capable of producing the output of the status of the reserved jobs printed thereon together with the control number, the information thus printed out being at least either one of the two types, characters and geometrical patterns, which may be made selectable by either a difference in the input equipment or the result of a processing job or both of these, with the possible addition of the capability of controlling the printing position for the characters or geometrical patterns.

  • Patent number: 5124798
Abstract: A method of inputting images in digital copying machines comprises the steps of reading image data stored in a storing unit upon occurrence of an input error, and displaying or printing the read image data for a plurality of pages on a display screen or a recording sheet in arrayed form. Accordingly, the operator, when informed of how far the document has been read/stored, can not only handle a complex operation easily and correctly, but also can examine any undesired images such as images obliquely read although not subjected to input errors.

  • Patent number: 5101284
Abstract: In a shading correction device of an image reading machine, for example, a Xerography unit or a thermal transfer unit, a platen roller is provided so as to engage and disengage from a platen glass. A reference white color member is provided. The reference white color member is movable up to a position between the platen glass and the platen roller along the circumferential side of the platen roller and with rotation of the platen roller.
