  • Patent number: 8730442
Abstract: A TFT substrate includes drain signal lines which are connected with respective pixels, source electrodes which are connected with the drain signal lines via channel portions of transistors, and pixel electrodes which are electrically connected with the source electrodes. The pixel electrode is, further, constituted of a contact-portion electrode which is connected to the source electrode, an opening-portion electrode which is an electrode in an opening portion which is not covered with a black matrix, and a channel upper electrode which is formed so as to cover the channel portion of the transistor of the neighboring pixel. By extending the channel upper electrode to the channel portion of the neighboring pixel, an area of the pixel electrode is increased, and a line width of the opening-portion electrode is made relatively small. Accordingly, the TFT substrate can hold a stable potential.

  • Patent number: 7652728
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device prevents an abnormal picture-frame-like frame being displayed outside an effective display region of a liquid crystal display panel even when burrs are generated in a dicing step. A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel having a first substrate and a second substrate and a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the substrates. The first substrate includes a common electrode on a surface thereof which faces the second substrate in an opposed manner. The second substrate includes reflective electrodes, a first conductive film arranged to surround a periphery of the reflective electrodes, and a second conductive film arranged to surround a periphery of the first conductive film, a common voltage applied to the common electrode is applied to the first conductive film, and a reference voltage (GND) is applied to the second conductive film.

  • Publication number: 20060139239
Abstract: The present invention, in a projector, prevents the generation of a color domain which is generated attributed to the orientation direction having a pretilt angle. In a projector including a light source, a plurality of liquid crystal display panels which modify light irradiated from the light source, and a screen to which the light modified by the respective liquid crystal display panels is projected, the orientation direction of one liquid crystal display panel out of a plurality of liquid crystal display panels differs from the orientation direction of other liquid crystal display panels and the orientation directions of the liquid crystal display panels are aligned on the screen.
