  • Patent number: 11230457
Abstract: In an elevator apparatus, an activating lever that activates an emergency safety gear is disposed on the emergency safety gear. A speed governor mechanism has: a speed governor sheave; a tensioning sheave; and a speed governor rope that is wound onto the speed governor sheave and the tensioning sheave, and that is connected to the activating lever. A resistance applying mechanism is disposed on the car. The resistance applying mechanism applies a resisting force during ascent of the car against movement of the activating lever in a direction that activates the emergency safety gear.

  • Patent number: 11142429
Abstract: An emergency stop device for an elevator car, including: a link configured to be rotated about a rotary shaft installed on a car by movement of a speed governor rope; a rail stopper provided to one end of the link; a roller guide mounted to the car; and an elastic member provided between another end of the link and the car. The elastic member causes a spring reaction force to be reduced to bring the rail stopper into abutment against the roller guide even when the rail stopper is displaced by the link, when the displacement exceeds a preset threshold value due to further displacement by the link along with the movement of the speed governor rope at a time of occurrence of rope breakage.

  • Patent number: 10526170
Abstract: In an elevator apparatus, an abnormal acceleration detecting mechanism detects abnormal acceleration of an ascending/descending body due to breakage of a suspending body, and activates a safety device. The abnormal acceleration detecting mechanism includes: an inertia sheave that is rotatable around a sheave shaft independently from an interlocking sheave; a pawl that is connected to the interlocking sheave and the inertia sheave, and that is displaceable between a normal position, and an activating position that displaces a movable shoe to a gripping position; and an elastic body that holds the pawl in the normal position by applying an initial pressure, and that also rotates the inertia sheave together with the interlocking sheave.

  • Patent number: 9708158
Abstract: In a multi-car elevator, if two vertically adjacent cars among the cars are designated first and second cars, then: a zone that is a distance in which the second car can be stopped in response to an abnormality, and into which the first car is not permitted to enter is set as an exclusion zone of the second car; a position before which it is necessary for the first car to stop is set as a stopping limit position of the first car; and a plurality of threshold values that progressively detect the abnormal approach are set so as to enable the first car to decelerate and stop before the stopping limit position of the first car.

  • Publication number: 20130001020
Abstract: In a safety system for an elevator, slip detection means detects a slip between a drive sheave and a main rope. A safety gear is mounted to a car, the safety gear being electrically operated by an actuator to cause the car to make an emergency stop regardless of whether a running direction of the car is upward or downward. A safety gear controller cuts power supply to a hoisting machine motor and causes the safety gear to make a braking operation upon detection of the slip between the drive sheave and the main rope by the slip detection means.

  • Patent number: 8186484
Abstract: An elevator system in which a controller monitors whether or not a speed of an ascending/descending body reaches a preset overspeed. At a time of maintenance work, a stopper is interposed between a buffer and the ascending/descending body to limit a lowered position of the ascending/descending body. A stopper detector detects installation of the stopper onto at least one of the buffer and the ascending/descending body. When the stopper is detected by the stopper detector, the controller lowers a set value of the overspeed.
