Patent number: 7984459Abstract: A recording medium drive includes a disc ejecting mechanism that ejects an optical disc disposed on a turntable to a slot. The disc ejecting mechanism is provided with a first disc feeding mechanism disposed on a rear side in a drive unit body and a second disc feeding mechanism (a disc guide mechanism) that is disposed on a slot side relative to the first disc feeding mechanism and continuously feeding the optical disc fed by the first disc feeding mechanism in a direction toward the slot. The optical disc having a small diameter can be transferred from the turntable to the slot by the first disc feeding mechanism and the second disc feeding mechanism which are respectively disposed on the rear side and a front side of the slot, thereby ejecting the optical disc to the outside.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2005Date of Patent: July 19, 2011Assignee: Pioneer CorporationInventors: Eiji Hoshinaka, Hitoshi Ueno, Youichi Konno

Patent number: 7939776Abstract: A switch (50) is adapted to be On when a contact point (52) is at a position to be in contact with a cam surface (47) and Off when the contact point (52) is at a position corresponding to a non-cam surface (48). In the vicinity of the non-cam surface (48) of the cam surface (47), a rib (49) is provided which changes a direction of the contact point (52) when reciprocation of the cam member (43) is changed. Accordingly, even when the switch (50) comes into contact with the cam member (43) moving in a different direction, the direction of the contact point (52) is changed so as to be the same. Hence, the switch (50) is prevented from being affected by a hysteresis caused by difference in directions of the contact point (52).Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2005Date of Patent: May 10, 2011Assignee: Pioneer CorporationInventors: Eiji Hoshinaka, Hitoshi Ueno, Yukinari Makisaka

Publication number: 20090235287Abstract: A disc unit includes a push arm for providing a predetermined clearance between a periphery of a large-diameter disc and a guide lever used for guiding insertion and ejection of the large-diameter disc. The clearance is formed by moving the guide lever toward a left wall when the large-diameter disc is clamped on a turntable. With this arrangement, when the large-diameter disc is mounted on the turntable, the rotation of the large-diameter disc is not hindered.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 2, 2006Publication date: September 17, 2009Inventors: Yoshihiro Ichikawa, Eiji Hoshinaka, Yosuke Amitani

Publication number: 20090133043Abstract: A disc unit includes: a slide stopper adapted to switch a state of the unit between an initial state, a guide-restricted state and a movement-unrestricted state by sliding in right or left direction; and a first plate spring and a second plate spring for biasing the slide stopper in the guide-restricted state or the movement-unrestricted state in a direction to return to an initial position. With this arrangement, the slide stopper can be constantly returned to the initial position unless in the guide-restricted state and the movement-restricted state. Thus, with a simplified arrangement, the disc unit can be switched between the initial state, the guide-restricted state and the movement-unrestricted state.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 18, 2006Publication date: May 21, 2009Inventors: Eiji Hoshinaka, Yoshihiro Ichikawa, Yosuke Amitani

Publication number: 20040057373Abstract: Disclosed herein is a pickup feed mechanism in which the joint and the feed screw can engage with each other in a desirable manner. The joint (23) is fastened at one end to a slide member (21) that holds a pickup. The joint (23) has, at the other end, an engagement part (231) that is shaped like a projection. The engagement part (231) is located between a top cover (32) and the feed screw (24) and engaged with the screw portion (241) of the feed screw (24). The joint (23) also has, as the other end, a projection (232) that protrude away from the engagement part (231). The projection (232) abuts on the top cover (32) before the engagement part (231) disengages from the screw portion (241), when the joint (23) moves away from the screw portion (241) as it receive vibration or an impact. Thus, the engagement part (231) is prevented from coming out of the screw portion (241).Type: ApplicationFiled: July 29, 2003Publication date: March 25, 2004Inventors: Eiji Hoshinaka, Keiichi Takagi
