Patent number: 5581619Abstract: In the noise reduction system to attenuate vehicle internal noise sounds by means of generating a canceling sound synthesized with an engine-originated vibration noise source signal, to prevent a remaining noise sound caused by insufficient follow-up characteristic of the adaptive filter updating at a rapid deceleration or acceleration condition of engine, while a generation of canceling sound and an updating of the adaptive filter are interrupted forcibly, the filter coefficient is reset to be a predetermined level and then therefrom a normal adaptation of the adaptive filter is restarted.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 1994Date of Patent: December 3, 1996Assignee: Fuji Jukogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Eiji Shibata, Manpei Tamamura, Hiroshi Iidaka

Patent number: 5553154Abstract: Pulses synchronized with the period of the noise are generated and inputted to the adaptive filter. On the other hand, the tap number of the delay line of the adaptive filter is terminated at a tap number which is equal to the interval of the inputted pulse, whereby the number of times for calculation at the adaptive filter can be substantially reduced. Furthermore, in case where the tap number of the adaptive filter is changed according to the change of the period of the noise sound, the filter coefficient for cutting the high frequency domain is convoluted into the tap value of the adaptive filter, whereby noises caused by the change of the tap number can be eliminated even when the tap number of the adaptive filter is changed.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 1994Date of Patent: September 3, 1996Assignee: Fuji Jukogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Manpei Tamamura, Hiroshi Iidaka, Eiji Shibata

Patent number: 5473699Abstract: A primary source is synthesized with a filter coefficient of a first adaptive filter into a canceling signal. The canceling signal is converted into a canceling sound and the canceling sound is generated from a speaker. A result of interference of the canceling sound with a noise sound is detected by a microphone as an error signal. The error signal is subjected to a sum of convolution products with the filter coefficient of the first adaptive filter in a LMS calculation circuit and the filter coefficient is updated therein. On the other hand, the error signal is subjected to a sum of convolution products with the canceling signal in another LMS calculation circuit and a filter coefficient of a second adaptive filter is updated. The updated filter coefficient of the second adaptive filter is sent to a compensation coefficient synthesizing circuit and therein the compensation coefficient is corrected by the filter coefficient.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 1994Date of Patent: December 5, 1995Assignee: Fuji Jukogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Manpei Tamamura, Hiroshi Iidaka, Eiji Shibata

Patent number: 5408532Abstract: An ignition pulse shaped and demultiplied is used as a primary source and this primary source is converted into a canceling signal after being subjected to the sum of convolution products process with filter coefficients of an adaptive filter. Further the canceling signal is converted into a canceling sound by a speaker and outputted to the passenger compartment to cancel a vibration noise at a noise receiving point. The state of noise reduction is detected as an error signal by a microphone and the error signal is inputted to an exponential averaging circuit where the error signal is exponentially averaged with previous error signals by a trigger signal of the primary source from a trigger signal generating circuit. The error signal, as a result of this averaging, is compressed and then outputted to a LMS operational circuit. In the LMS operational circuit the filter coefficients are updated based on the primary source inputted via a C.sub.MNO circuit and the compressed error signal.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 1993Date of Patent: April 18, 1995Assignee: Fuji Jokogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Keitaro Yokota, Manpei Tamamura, Eiji Shibata, Hiroshi Iitaka

Patent number: 5386225Abstract: An image recording apparatus charges toner particles and forms a suspension of the charged toner particles. The image recording apparatus generates an electric field between a control electrode which has apertures and a back electrode, to directly control a flow of the charged toner particles, and to record an image on an image recording medium which passes between both electrodes. The image recording apparatus has an adjusting unit which adjusts the density of the suspension of the charged toner particles. The adjusting unit adjusts the density of the suspension of the charged particles in accordance with a signal output from a manual adjusting member, when a user operates the manual adjusting member. Density of the image on the image recording medium is adjusted on the basis of operation of the adjusting unit. The particles can be supplied by a speed variable ciliary member or a vibrating belt.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 1991Date of Patent: January 31, 1995Assignee: Brother Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Eiji Shibata
