  • Patent number: 7189177
Abstract: An electrically operated vehicle drive controller used with an electrically operated machine, an output shaft differentially rotatably connected to an engine and the electrically operated machine, and a differential rotating unit having a first differential rotating element connected to the electrically operated machine, a second differential rotating element connected to the output shaft, a third differential rotating element connected to the engine, a rotating body rotatably arranged on a support shaft in one of the first to third differential rotating elements and meshed with the other two differential rotating elements, and an engine control processor that controls the operation of the engine on the basis of the rotating speed of the rotating body. Because the operation of the engine is controlled on the basis of the rotating speed of the rotating body, it is possible to prevent the rotating speed of the rotating body from becoming higher than an upper limit value.

  • Patent number: 6907567
Abstract: In a document in which a plurality of data items of different kinds are mixed, when one data item is edited, the relative positional relation to other data items is prevented from being destroyed, whereby information is prevented from becoming meaningless or from being changed. For example, when an edit is carried out on one data item, a deviation amount of that data item is derived and a shift process by the same amount is effected on the other data items, whereby the relative positional relation can be maintained among the data items.

  • Patent number: 6817964
Abstract: A control apparatus and method for a hybrid vehicle that judges whether the vehicle is running on a congested road based on an output from a sensor, causes a take-off from a first state where a gear ratio of an automatic transmission is large at a time of taking-off when running on a congested road, causes the take-off from a second state where the gear ratio of the automatic transmission is small at the time of taking-off when not running on the congested road and replenishes, by driving a motor/generator, a part of an under torque of the driving source created by taking-off from a state where the gear ratio of the automatic transmission is large, when a temporary high acceleration take-off request is made while a judgment of congested road running is maintained.

  • Patent number: 6758293
Abstract: A control system for a hybrid vehicle accurately determines the start (i.e. ignition) of an internal combustion engine and suppresses the peak PK in the actual rotational speed. The hybrid vehicle is provided with a motor control unit for, at the time of starting the internal combustion engine, driving the motor to rotate at a target motor rotational speed and with a vehicle control unit for, when the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine has reached a predetermined value, outputting an ignition command to start the internal combustion engine. After the ignition command is output to the internal combustion engine, the vehicle control unit calculates the difference between the target rotational speed of the motor and the actual rotational speed of the motor, and if the difference exceeds a predetermined value, determines that the ignition of the internal combustion engine has been effected. In this manner, the start of the internal combustion engine can be accurately detected.

  • Patent number: 6697524
Abstract: An information processing method and apparatus which uses a memory storing stroke data forming one character together with respective stroke order information to display each stroke data based on the stored stroke order information at an arbitrary speed. In addition, a display speed changing instruction is input into the apparatus and the display speed of the stroke data is changed in response to the display speed changing instruction. In addition, stroke data stored in correspondence to the stroke order information of an input stroke order number is read from the memory and displayed. Further, the stroke data can be displayed under different display conditions such that the stroke order information stored in correspondence to the stroke data can be distinguished from each other.

  • Patent number: 6671403
Abstract: Two different recognition processing units respectively perform a plurality of different recognition processing operations for the pattern to be recognized input from a character input unit, and acquire a plurality of recognition candidates and recognition scores. An accuracy calculation unit converts the recognition scores obtained by the two recognition processing units into accuracies based on a scale common to the plurality of different recognition processing operations using parameters stored in a parameter storage unit. A determination unit generates a recognition candidate sequence by determining the order of the recognition candidates obtained by the two recognition processing units on the basis of the accuracies converted by the accuracy calculation unit.

  • Patent number: 6636636
Abstract: It is an object of the invention to improve output precision of a final recognition result by further obtaining and applying a forward-chain probability in addition to a backward-chain probability in a Bi-gram statistic process, as a post-processing in the case where a plurality of candidate characters are outputted to one input pattern as a result of character recognition. An apparatus according to the invention has a backward-chain dictionary and a forward-chain dictionary of characters, obtains a chain probability from the i-th character to the (i+1)th character by using the backward-chain dictionary, further obtains a chain probability from the (i+1)th character to the i-th character by using the forward-chain dictionary, and selects the character of the final output result from a plurality of candidate characters on the basis of a value obtained by unifying those chain probabilities.

  • Patent number: 6320601
Abstract: The present invention is based on an observation that a range of information desired to select, may differ, according to a mode selected (for example, in a case where a plurality of information pieces are grouped, an erasing operation might be performed only on part of the group). The present invention determines, where appropriate, an automatic changeover to designate either a single piece of information or a whole group of pieces of information as a range of information to be selected as a processed object, according to a mode selected.
