Abstract: The invention relates to a method for digitally collecting a sample by a microscope. In order to obtain a rapid analysis of the sample by a physician, it is advantageous if the sample has been already collected in regions which have not yet been viewed by the physician. This can be achieved when a viewing section of the sample is selected, a microscope lens is moved in a scanning mode over this viewing section first in a sequence of offset images covering the viewing section. The image is digitally recorded and the represented, and subsequently the scanning route is continued with a sequence of images outside of the selected viewing section.
