Abstract: This publication discloses a method for setting rating. It also discloses means and a computer software product for setting rating, a rating system, and a method in the rating system. In the method for setting rating, an internal event format of some event formed through a value system, an event-description rating process is executed to form a rated internal event format, and the rated internal event format is processed and sent to be stored in a data store and for use in an external system. The external system can be, for example, a billing system, a balance-monitoring system, or a prepaid system. The disclosed means and the disclosed computer software product are set to execute the corresponding operations.
