Abstract: Container terminal comprising an automated modularized vertical storage system for storing ocean ISO containers on standardized cargo load platforms, the automated modularized vertical storage system comprising a number of modularized storage modules stacked vertically on top of each other forming a modularized block, wherein a number of modularized blocks are arranged side by side forming the automated modularized vertical storage system. An automated modularized vertical storage system for a container terminal is also described.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system for handling cargo on board and to/from a vessel, wherein said system includes a cargo vessel with a plurality of cargo decks, a number of side doors, a cargo elevator located inside each side door communicating with said cargo decks, and a crane located inside each side door, the system further includes a number of standardized cargo load platforms with legs, the cargo load platforms being adapted to store cargo, the cargo load platforms being stored on the cargo decks in slots along the sides of the vessel and transverse to the longitudinal axis of the vessel and with a passageway between the slots along the longitudinal axis of the vessel, the system further includes a number of trolleys adapted to transport the load platforms between the slots and the cargo elevators.

Abstract: Apparatus for welding a stiffening member or the like to a plate in which a box is provided having an opening in one wall thereof through which the stiffening plate enters the box. A plurality of guides are mounted to the box for holding welding rods in proximity to the place where the stiffener is to be welded to the plate. A suction source is attached to the box for removing gases, fumes and other like materials produced during the welding operation and the box is positioned relative to the plate and the stiffener.

Abstract: Apparatus for the application, positioning and adjustment of sections in the assembly of panels or the like, comprising a horizontally movable, gantry like lifting device adapted to transfer the sections from a store to that place on the panel plate to which the individual sections are to be welded. A vertically movable yoke, attached to the supporting uprights of the gantry, extends substantially parallel with the girder of the gantry. A jig displaceable along the yoke comprises lifting magnets for retaining the panel plate and a jack device for pressing the section against the panel plate.
