  • Patent number: 4174590
Abstract: Disclosed is a structure of a lower frame for a pivoted window, which prevents intrusion of rain water into the room. The lower frame has a grooved section, and a rotation shaft is mounted on the bottom plate of the groove portion to support the pivoted window. Ventilation holes are formed in a space defined by the lower frame and a lower rail of the pivoted window so that the ventilation holes are communicated with outer air and generation of a negative pressure in the above-mentioned space is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4142272
Abstract: Each of paired pivot mechanisms pivotally holding a window sash within a supporting frame comprises a stationary base screwed to one of the constituent members of the supporting frame and a pivot-carrying movable base fitted over the stationary base. By manipulation of a pair of adjusting screws the movable base can be adjustably moved relatively to the stationary base in the longitudinal direction of the supporting frame member and, if desired, away from or back toward the same. The movable base is screwed to the supporting frame member via the stationary base in a desired position. The mechanism is equally applicable to either vertically or horizontally pivoted windows.

  • Patent number: 4121396
Abstract: A curtain wall construction has a plurality of panel units arranged in a checkerboard pattern, each of the panel units including a panel and a frame extending peripherally around the panel. The frames jointly provide a plurality of channels therebetween which jointly provide channel crossings where they intersect. The channels receive therein backup bars and the channel crossings receive therein backup crossings, these backup bars and crossings being made of a resilient material and the backup crossings additionally including reinforcing core wires embedded therein. A caulking compound is applied to exposed surfaces of the backup crossing and backup bars to seal the seams.

  • Patent number: 4100704
Abstract: An adjustable transom assembly is adaptable for a variety of differenty angled mullions each having two portions inclined at an angle with respect to each other and joined together by the assembly. The assembly has a first hollow member mounted on one of the portions of the mullion and having an arcuate wall, and a projection with a semi-cylindrical end portion located at the center of curvature of the arcuate wall. A second member has an elongated arcuate recess receiving the semi-cylindrical end portion and is tiltable about the end portion, the second member including an arm movable over the arcuate wall and connected to one of a plurality of selectable positions on the arcuate wall. The selected position causes the second member to be inclined at the afore-mentioned angle with respect to the first member.
