  • Patent number: 11420030
Abstract: Angioplasty and other dilatation devices are provided with scoring elements which incorporate a drug to be delivered to a body lumen, typically a blood vessel. The scoring elements have drugs and other active substances coated over a portion thereof or incorporated within internal structure of the element so that the drug is released into the luminal wall closely associated diseased regions of the body lumen as the scoring structure is radially expanded into the wall.

  • Patent number: 11213296
Abstract: Veins and other blood vessels may be reshaped by introducing an implant through the vessel walls with anchors positioned on opposite sides of the wall. The anchors typically include an elongate body having coils or other anchors formed therein. The implants may be delivered percutaneously using a cannula which can hold the anchor externally or internally. The methods and devices are useful in treating a dorsal vein to reduce blood flow in patients suffering from erectile dysfunction.

  • Publication number: 20210402160
Abstract: A balloon catheter and methods of using same are provided. The balloon catheter can include an expandable structure mounted over a balloon coated with a composition. The expandable structure includes a plurality of axial struts crossing a plurality of radially-expandable rings for constraining the balloon such that isolated balloon regions can protrude through openings in the expandable structure when the balloon is inflated. The balloon catheter can be configured to maximize scraping of the composition from the surface of the balloon by the struts of the expandable structure during balloon inflation.

  • Patent number: 11033276
Abstract: Methods and devices are used to treat a dorsal vein to reduce blood flow in patients suffering from erectile dysfunction. For example, a clip may be advanced distally across the deep dorsal vein and an anchor on the clip deployed on a proximal side of the Tunica albuginea. The clip can then be pulled back and a distal anchor on the clip deployed to reduce a cross-sectional area of the deep dorsal vein and anchor the deep dorsal vein to the Tunica albuginea. Anchoring of the dorsal vein to the Tunica albuginea further reduces the cross-sectional area of the deep dorsal vein in response to expansion of the patient's corpora cavernosa.

  • Patent number: 11000680
Abstract: A system for dilating a stenosed vessel is provided. The system includes a balloon mounted on a catheter shaft, the balloon being composed of a first material and fibers forming a grid attached to a surface of the balloon or integrated within a wall thereof. The fibers are composed of a second material having less elasticity than the first material such that when the balloon is inflated beyond a predetermined pressure balloon regions protrude from the grid formed by the fibers.

  • Publication number: 20210038508
Abstract: A liquid drug delivery formulation forms a foam when combined with a gas source. The formulation includes water, at least one hydrophilic solvent, at least one surfactant or foaming agent, and a drug particle which is a mixture of a therapeutic agent and an excipient. The formulations are useful for delivering foams to body cavities and lumens, such as the sinuses for treating sinusitis and other conditions.

  • Patent number: 10722694
Abstract: An angioplasty catheter has a catheter body having a balloon or other radially expandable shell at its distal end. A non-axial external structure is carried over the shell and scores a stenosed region in a blood vessel when the balloon is inflated therein. The catheter has an attachment structure disposed between the catheter body and the balloon to accommodate foreshortening and rotation of the external structure as the balloon is expanded. The external structure may be part of a helical cage structure which floats over the balloon.

  • Publication number: 20200139093
Abstract: A constraining structure for use with a balloon catheter can include multiple longitudinal struts and multiple, sinusoidal shaped radial rings. The constraining structure can expand to form a pattern of channels including substantially square windows. The constraining structure can modify, restrict, and control a shape and/or size of the balloon when inflated. Inflating the balloon catheter within the constraining structure can provide nonuniform pressure on a vessel wall adjacent the balloon.
