Abstract: A system for selecting and presenting advertising to a user, the system including: a storage memory, residing in a mobile device, having program code, wherein the program code is configured: to locally select at least one context-dependent advertising message from a locally-stored database residing in the mobile device; and to present at least one context-dependent advertising message to the user on the mobile device; and a processor for running the program code on the mobile device. Preferably, the presenting includes presenting at least one context-dependent advertising message to the user on a mobile phone. Preferably, the program code is further configured: to record an event report for remunerating the user, with a compensatory reward, for consent to receive at least one context-dependent message. Most preferably, the event report is used by an MNO to remunerate the user and/or to bill an advertiser.

Abstract: A system for enforcing a storage allocation usage right(s) for an application may include a controllable storage and a storage manager to control the access of the application to the storage according to an associated storage allocation usage right. A SIM card for enforcing a storage allocation usage right for an application may include an application register to store an access rule of the storage allocation usage right(s) and an APREC module to identify the application and thereby an access rule to enable controlling of the access of the application to storage according to the storage allocation usage right. A high-capacity SIM card for enforcing a storage allocation usage right for an application may include a storage; a storage manager to control the access of an application to the storage according to an associated access rule of the storage allocation usage right; and an APREC module.

Abstract: A ternary card assembly is provided that includes a detachable smart card, a detachable information tab, and a disposable carrier card, which are connected by breakaway links. The smart card and the information tab may be connected to one another directly or indirectly through an intermediate element. The information tab may include one or more panels that are elastically displaceable from the plane of the information tab to render the information tab useful in different ways. A payload set is also provided, which includes a smart card and an information tab, which is detachably connected to only a part of the smart card's perimeter Also provided are methods of preparing a smart card for use and for customizing a smart card.

Abstract: A SIM card comprising at least a first interface and a second interface different from the first interface is disclosed. In some embodiments, the SIM card is operative to receive data through the first interface, store the received data within the SIM card, and send back the stored data via the second interface. This enables a host operatively coupled with the SIM card to write data to the SIM card via the first interface and to read back the data via the second interface. Furthermore, a technique for extending the SIM EEPROM storage by keeping a portion of the file in flash is provided.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an enforcement system for controlling security in a territory including: (a) a multifunctional device having a plurality of device functionalities; (b) a disabling mechanism for reversibly disabling at least one device functionality; and (c) a gate controller, for enforcing security in the territory, having a restricting mechanism for activating the disabling mechanism. A method for controlling device functionalities of a device in a territory including the steps of: (a) sending a disable instruction to the device to disable at least one device functionality upon entry of the device into the territory; and (b) disabling at least one device functionality, by the device, upon receipt by the device of the disable instruction.

Abstract: A recording system for securely recording an event, the system including: a capturing device for an owner to capture signals from the event, and for converting the signals into digital data; a public-key encrypting mechanism, configured to use a public key of an asymmetric key-pair, for encrypting the data into encrypted data; a non-volatile storage device for storing the encrypted data; and a private-key decrypting mechanism, configured to use a private key of the asymmetric key-pair, for decrypting the encrypted data stored in the storage device only upon using the private key, wherein the private key is securely maintained with a trusted private-key holder, and wherein the trusted private-key holder is at least one entity other than the owner of the capturing device. Preferably, the trusted private-key holder is operative to decrypt the encrypted data only upon receiving an authorization from an authorized entity.

Abstract: A memory card includes a memory for storing data and a controller that is operative to control access to storage of at least a portion of storage conditional upon an authorization of a corresponding identity card of a service provider. A storage system includes an identity card of a service provider and a memory card, wherein the identity card corresponds to the memory card, and wherein access to storage of at least a portion of the memory card is controlled conditional upon an authorization from only this corresponding identity card. A method of doing business includes equipping a mobile phone with an identity card that corresponds to a memory card, configuring the memory card to operate conditional on an authorization from this corresponding secured card, and then offering the mobile phone and the memory card for sale at a discount.

Abstract: The present invention discloses systems and methods for detecting that a phone is being used by a person other than a regular user of the phone, the method including the steps of: (a) comparing a dialed phone number of an outgoing call of the phone to a plurality of reference phone numbers; (b) adjusting an alert level based on whether the dialed phone number is included in the plurality of reference phone numbers; and (c) designating the phone as being used by a person other than the regular user, contingent upon the alert level reaching a predetermined threshold. In some embodiments, the step of adjusting includes adjusting the alert level based on a plurality of dialed phone numbers, wherein each dialed phone number increases the alert level based on the absence of the dialed phone number from the plurality of reference phone numbers.

Abstract: A system for detecting irregular events in a monitored area by processing data related to the physiological parameters of guarding animals. The system comprises one or more sensors associated with one or more processing units for processing the physiological parameters by identifying and documenting, in real time, physiological patterns of the animals and comparing the generated physiological patterns with predetermined physiological patterns of the animal. The system further allows for extracting indications regarding the irregular events, whenever no match is obtained between the pattern or the generated patterns matching a pattern indicating an irregular event. The system also comprises communication means for transferring said physiological parameters from said animal to said one or more processing units.

Abstract: A system for use in a transport network that connects to the Internet or to a similar IP network, by which the class of service and Quality of Service of the connection to the Internet over the transport network may be dynamically adjusted to meet changing requirements. In contrast to static systems which require manual reconfiguration to change the class of service, a system according to an embodiment of the present invention provides for on-demand changing of the class of service depending on the current needs. A set of tunnels from the transport network's first switch (the “aggregator” or the DSLAM) to the interface between the transport network and the IP network (the “edge router”) is pre-configured to provide the different levels of service that are supported. By selecting the appropriate tunnel through which the connection is made at the time the session is established, dynamic selection of Class of Service, and hence Quality of Service, is effected.
