    Abstract: A vehicle battery system configured to appropriately control a battery installed in a vehicle includes a controller and a rechargeable battery installed in the vehicle in a replaceable manner, charged by an electric power generator, and supplies electric power to auxiliary equipment of the vehicle. The controller determines whether a first battery or a second battery with charging efficiency lower than the first battery is installed in the vehicle as the rechargeable battery and, when determining that the second battery is installed as the rechargeable battery, makes the maximum generated power voltage that is the maximum value of the generated power voltage of the electric power generator higher than when determining that the first battery is installed.
