Abstract: A simulated edible cake, comprising a base, a core having a predetermined shape attached to the base and a portion of the core including a notch for receiving at least one piece of edible cake. The core of the cake is covered with at least one layer of edible crust to provide the cake with a desired exterior design. The edible cake is shipped to the desired location in a specialized container having a receiver formed therein for fix the base and centering the cake within the container for shipment.
