    Abstract: The invention relates to a laminate, the top layer thereof comprising a paper impregnated with an aminoplast resin and surface modified silica nanoparticles. According to the invention the surface modified silica nanoparticles comprise at least one silane on the surfaces thereof, said silane carrying at least one functional group. The invention further relates to a method for the production of a laminate of said type.
