Abstract: A carrying pack for photographic and similar equipment such as cameras and camcorders having a padded vest covering the chest of the photographer-user. The vest is secured to the user by detachable belt and straps extending to a lumbar member. The camera is secured to the shoulder area of the pack by floating adjustable straps. In the stored position, the camera assumes a position against the pad and is restrained by one or more adjustable retainer straps. In use, the camera may be quickly raised and the floating straps provide additional stability to steady the camera during use. An optional weather cover may be secured to the pad to cover the camera when not in use.
