  • Publication number: 20140228010
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for broadcasting audio tweets. A system broadcasting audio tweets receives tweets via telephone devices, wherein each listener hears a telephone call of a broadcast on the telephone devices. Each received tweet is associated with one or more tags specifying tweet content, which is used to analyze received tweets. The system presents a display of analyzed tweets for selection to a host. The host selects one or more tweets and broadcasts the selected tweets as part of the broadcast to the telephone devices. Automatic speech recognition can be used to automatically convert received audio tweets to text to enable tagging and analyzing the tweets.

  • Publication number: 20140219476
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of processing a signal such as an audio signal. The method includes normalizing a received signal to a level of between ?2 dB and ?10 dB to yield a normalized signal, compressing the normalized signal exceeding a threshold (such as 70% of the maximum volume and above) to yield a compressed signal, performing frequency equalization on the compressed signal to yield an equalized signal; and normalizing the equalized signal.

  • Publication number: 20140126706
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and computer-readable storage devices for streaming data. The method includes presenting a data stream including an interactive communication and detecting feedback from the user in response to the interactive communication. If the feedback indicates a request to receive data associated with the interactive communication, the method includes buffering the data stream from a point in time associated with the feedback to yield a buffered data stream, connecting the user device to a commerce presence associated with the interactive communication temporarily and resuming playback of the buffered data stream to the user device following completion of the temporary communication between the user device and commerce presence.

  • Publication number: 20140108124
Abstract: A system, method and non-transitory computer-readable storage medium are disclosed for advertising. A system configured to practice the method receives user situation information. Based on the situation information, the system transmits an advertisement to the user's mobile device, wherein the advertisement is associated with an identification card and a coupon and transmitted independent of any user solicitation for a communication and independent of a request for a product or a service. The system receives input from the user via the advertisement for purposes other than redeeming the coupon; and, and receives an indication of a purchase associated with the advertisement and completed at a point of sale device using the identification card, wherein the mobile device differs from the point of sale device and wherein the purchase is at full price and a rebate associated with the coupon and the identification card is provided to the user.

  • Publication number: 20140094152
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for facilitating audio access to radio stations via a call-to-listen application on a device. A server can provide a listing of radio stations via an application on a user device, such as a smartphone, receive a selection of a radio station by a user and obtain a phone number associated with the selection. The server utilizes a phone dialer on the device to dial the phone number and is presented with received audio from a radio station associated with the phone number via the device. In one embodiment, a least expensive transmission mode is determined based on a data plan balance and a voice plan balance, and the audio is presented via the determined least expensive transmission mode. In another embodiment, the phone number dialed is determined by user location.

  • Publication number: 20120030002
Abstract: A system, method and non-transitory computer-readable storage medium are disclosed for processing coupons. A system configured to practice the method transmits an advertisement to a mobile device of a user after the user registers to receive advertisements, wherein the advertisement is associated with an identification card of the user and a coupon, activates the coupon based on an acceptance via a user interaction with the mobile device, other than a telephone call, to yield an activated coupon, receives an indication at a point of sale device of a purchase using the identification card, wherein the mobile device is different from the point of sale device, and applies a discount to the purchase according to the activated coupon. Thus, a user can redeem the coupon by simply purchasing using the identification card without presenting a separate physical coupon. The coupon can be applied in substantially real time or after the transaction.
