  • Publication number: 20210282127
Abstract: Embodiments described herein relate to managing access to 5G cellular baseband resources for 5G-capable wireless devices. A wireless device can monitor application workloads by analyzing communication network performance requirements for a given application in-use or launching for future use along with system-level indications of overall device usage, battery level, and mobility status to determine whether access to 5G cellular baseband resources is recommended for an application. A 5G cellular baseband resource recommendation is provided for an application indicating a level of bandwidth in current use or expected for future use as well as a confidence metric in the bandwidth level indication. The 5G cellular baseband resource recommendation is used with additional device criteria to determine whether access to one or more 5G radio frequency bands is allowed.

  • Publication number: 20210246693
Abstract: A system for passive locking and unlocking a vehicle is described that includes a memory for storing executable instructions and a processor configured to execute the instructions to unlock the vehicle using a time of flight to transmit the trigger request between the vehicle and the first key fob. The processor receives, from a first key fob, a trigger request to unlock the vehicle, and determines, based key fob identifiers that identify the first key fob and a second key fob that is also near the vehicle, that the first and second key fobs are associated with a vehicle. The processor selects the first key fob based on a key fob characteristic. The processor evaluates the time of flight using the first key fob, and unlocks the vehicle based on the time of flight satisfying a threshold for signal transmission flight time.

  • Patent number: 10992860
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to providing a more accurate presentation of a vehicle's surroundings when the presentation combines images from multiple cameras. Cameras may capture the same portion of the environment. If an object is within view of at least two cameras, each camera produces a portion of an overall view, such as a 360 degree synthetic top-down view. The seam, angle and/or geometry, angle between any two images is dynamically determined, such as due to proximity (or lack thereof) to an object. As a result the synthetic top-down view may present an image of an object more prominently and/or avoid having the seam between camera images fall on the image of the object, which may otherwise result in the image of the object being omitted from both camera images.

  • Patent number: 10982968
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to providing an Augmented Reality (AR) navigation display in a vehicle. More specifically, embodiments are directed to rendering AR indications of a navigation route over a camera video stream in perspective. According to one embodiment, visual tracking can be performed on features in the video data and camera pose, i.e., a matrix encapsulating position and orientation, can be determined for each frame of video based on both the visual tracking and navigation sensor data. These separately determined camera poses can then be merged or fused into a single camera pose that is more accurate and more stable and which can then be used in rendering more realistic AR route indicators onto the video of the real-world route captured by the camera.
