  • Patent number: 8924045
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for adjusting and locking a movable control surface, which includes, but is not limited to a rotatably held spindle, an adjustment body, a linear guide, a drive unit, a linear positioning encoder and a control unit. The adjustment body with the linear guide is slidably guided along a first movement axis, and the spindle is connected to the adjustment body for moving the adjustment body along the movement axis. The adjustment body is configured to connect to a control surface mount, and the linear positioning encoder and the drive unit are connected to the control unit. The latter is designed to adjust a predetermined actuating position of the adjustment body by rotation of the spindle with the drive unit and by comparing an actual position, detected by the linear positioning encoder, of the adjustment body with the predetermined actuating position.

  • Patent number: 8136768
Abstract: A system and a method for adjusting and locking a control surface that is movably arranged on a wind-tunnel aircraft model and comprises a drive arrangement for driving the control surface, and a locking arrangement. The drive arrangement comprises a first drive motor, arranged in a fixed manner relative to the control surface, at least one first connecting rod eccentrically connectable to the first drive motor, and at least one lever, whose one end can be held on the first connecting rod and whose other end can be held on a fixed point of the aircraft model. The locking arrangement can be attached in a fixed manner relative to the control surface and is further designed to block a relative movement between the control surface and the aircraft model.

  • Publication number: 20090255354
Abstract: A linear actuating element for the remote control of adjustable components on wind tunnel models includes a housing and a gear motor for driving a threaded spindle. On the threaded spindle a threaded nut for moving a pusher rod is arranged. The threaded spindle is connected to the gear motor by a chain drive, wherein the threaded spindle and a gear motor axle are arranged so as to be substantially anti-parallel. Due to the anti-parallel arrangement of the gear motor axle and of the threaded spindle, the linear actuating element on the one hand comprises a compact design. Consequently the linear actuating element is in particular suited to the remote control of adjustable components on wind tunnel models with small spatial dimensions. On the other hand the linear actuating element makes it possible to generate very considerable mechanical actuating forces while at the same time providing very good positioning and repetition accuracy.

  • Publication number: 20080073609
Abstract: The invention relates to a compressed-air needle valve for controlling an air flow for driving engine simulators in aircraft models for wind tunnel experiments, the needle valve including: a housing having a front face and a rear face; a control rod which is held in the rear face of the housing such that it can move longitudinally; an air inlet, which is arranged in a side face of the housing; an air outlet which is arranged in the area of a front face of the housing; a Venturi insert upstream of the air outlet; and a needle which is arranged at a first end of the control rod and by means of which an annular gap between the needle and the Venturi insert can be continuously varied by longitudinal movement of the control rod in order to control the air flow.
