  • Patent number: 5746541
Abstract: A mobile sod cutting machine has mounting arms that have a central axis of elongation with a cable installer mechanism mounted to the lower end of one of the arms for being reciprocated with the arm. The cable installer mechanism includes a vertical ground slitting blade having a front slitting edge, a bottom edge intersecting the slitting edge and a shank mounting portion mounted to the mounting arm. An upper cable guide is attached to the shank mounting portion to extend rearwardly of the central axis of elongation of the mounting arm while a bottom cable guide is mounted to the blade adjacent to the intersection of the blade bottom edge and slitting edge to have its reversely bent edge forwardly of the central axis of elongation but spaced rearwardly of the blade bottom edge along the guide length by a distance about as least as great as the reciprocal fore and aft movement of the blade.

  • Patent number: 4867289
Abstract: A brake lock system for a motorized wheeled vehicle having a throttle pedal and a primary brake pedal operable to effect braking of the vehicle, includes a brake lock pedal supported proximate the primary brake pedal to enable actuation by the operator during application of foot pressure to the primary brake pedal. The brake local pedal is pivotally supported by an over-center linkage arrangement movable to an over-center condition in response to actuation of the brake lock pedal so as to lock the primary brake pedal in a braking condition. A release pin is operatively associated with the over-center linkage arrangement and responsive to actuation of the throttle pedal to release the over-center linkage arrangement and enable return of the primary brake pedal to a non-braking condition.

  • Patent number: 4678058
Abstract: A vehicle driver seat is equipped with a switch assembly responsive to the application of a load on the seat to disable the ignition circuitry of the vehicle upon the removal of the load from the seat. The switch assembly includes a generally C-shaped spring located underneath the seat cushion. The end portions of the spring are displaced laterally when the spring is depressed as occurs when an operator sits on the vehicle seat. The lateral displacement of the spring ends pulls a switch plunger to activate the vehicle ignition system.
