    Abstract: An improved folding wheelchair which allows greater comfort and support for patients. The folding seat back provides rigid support about a flexible spine and may be folded book-like about the flexible spine. The folding seat back of the wheelchair provides rigid support while permitting the patient to be variably reclined and permits the wheelchair to be completely folded or collapsed for easier transport and storage.

    Abstract: An improved kit for converting a non-reclining wheelchair into a reclining wheelchair providing replacement side rails which improve patient comfort by preventing the side rail from impinging upon the patient. The replacement side rails are affixed to the frame of the wheelchair after the original side rails are removed. The replacement side rails bend outward to avoid the location of the patient's axilla when the wheelchair is reclined.

The desired degree of incline of the TLSO chair back portion is set by adjustment of recline adjustment straps.

    Abstract: A thoracic-lumbar-sacral corrective orthosis ("TLSO") device, for supporting, controlling and correcting structural and postural curvature and deformation of the spine and a chair side support buttress to further support a patient seated in a chair. The TLSO device can be used by ambulatory and non-ambulatory patient's alike and has an arcuate rigid back portion, a flexible vest portion and straps to hold the TLSO device against the patient's back to apply corrective pressure to the patient's spine. A lumbar support cushion is located on the arcuate rigid back portion to provide lumbar support to the patient's spine. Chair attachment straps are affixed to arcuate rigid back portion for use in securing a patient wearing the TLSO device in a chair. The chair side support buttress is positioned between the armrest of a chair and extends upwards to lie adjacent to the patient's side.
