Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for remote monitoring. In some example implementations, there is provided a method. The method may include receiving, at a remote monitor, a notification message representative of an event detected, by a server, from analyte sensor data obtained from a receiver monitoring an analyte state of a host; presenting, at the remote monitor, the notification message to activate the remote monitor, wherein the remote monitor is configured by the server to receive the notification message to augment the receiver monitoring of the analyte state of the host; accessing, by the remote monitor, the server, in response to the presenting of the notification message; and receiving, in response to the accessing, information including at least the analyte sensor data. Related systems, methods, and articles of manufacture are also disclosed.

Abstract: Systems and methods for group event and service coordination are provided, including Smart Chats, which connect user accounts to tools for intelligently finding tickets for sale, cost splitting, accessing related events and services, and sharing media. The systems and methods further implement artificial intelligence to match non-connected user accounts and provide event and service recommendations to connected user accounts.

Abstract: In some embodiments, an entry management module may receive a set of entries, each entry of the set of entries including a time-stamp value and a path identifier to a data object having content that may be changed. An entry selection module may select a first entry from the set of entries based on a first time-stamp value of the first entry, the first time-stamp value identifying a first time being no later than other times identified by time-stamp values of other entries. A crawler module may retrieve first content from a first data object using a first path identifier of the first entry. A freshness module may calculate a first updated timestamp value using a first freshness value, the first freshness value indicating a priority to retrieve possibly changed content from the first data object, the first updated time-stamp value replacing the first time-stamp value.

The machine includes a number of silos for the storage of smaller objects and a mechanism for dispensing the stored objects into a central receptacle at a designated time or frequency in a combinatorial manner, regardless of the size, shape, or other physical characteristics of the pill to be dispensed. Major components of the device include a number of silos for storing objects of dispersal, a user input interface, a circuit board, an actuator, a central receptacle, a sensor, a storage receptacle, and an alarm. It is preferred that the designated time or frequency for dispersal from each silo is set by a user or a third-party. It is preferred that the machine further includes a capability for wireless connectivity to an intranet or an internet and a mechanism for monitoring access to the central receptacle and for outputting feedback to a user or a third-party.

Abstract: A method for data storage includes provisioning, in a cluster of computers, including at least first and second computers, which are connected to a packet data network, a range of RAM on the second computer for use by the first computer. Blocks of data are stored in the provisioned range for use by programs running on the first computer. Upon incurring a page fault on the first computer in response to a request for a page of virtual memory by a program running on the first computer, a block swap request is directed to the NIC of the first computer with respect to the requested page. In response to the block swap request, an RDMA read request is initiated by the NIC via the network to the NIC of the second computer, to retrieve the requested page from the provisioned range, so as to resolve the page fault.

Abstract: A lighting fixture and method for creating visual effects include a light box having an interior, a reflective inner surface and an opening, a plate covering the opening, a 3-dimentional image on the plate having a first depth, at least one light source disposed in the interior for illuminating the image with evenly spread light. The light source is disposed at a second depth behind the image. A ratio of first to second depths is between 7:7 and 7:21. A plurality of interchangeable plates may be provided with respective 3-dimentional images for creating different effects. A method for creating a distorted image includes preparing a 2-dimensional image, sculpting a 3-dimensional model, vacuum forming and running a 3-dimentional grid, drawing a distorted outline onto a 2-dimentional grid with photo management software, digitally matching and stretching an original image to match the outline and removing the outline leaving the distorted image.

Abstract: In at least one embodiment, a safety helmet is provided that includes an outer shell and at least one layer of a sheet of shock absorbing material located therein, the shock absorbing material having a top layer, a bottom layer, and a plurality of pairs of ribs that couple the top layer to the bottom layer, the pairs of ribs extent through the material so as to create a plurality of channels therein, the layers having a plurality of perforations therein that communicate with the plurality of channels and that align with the holes in the helmet, each of the plurality of channels having an opening on an end of the material for air to pass through the openings of the channels and exit through the perforations in the material.

Abstract: In at least one embodiment, a shock absorbing ventilated seat is provided that includes a seat portion; and a back portion adjustably hinged to the seat portion. At least one of the seat and the back portions include a planer sheet of shock absorbing material located therein. The shock absorbing material has a top layer, a bottom layer, and a plurality of pairs of ribs that couple the top layer to the bottom layer so as to create a plurality of channels in the material. The top layer has a plurality of perforations therein that communicate with the plurality of channels, each of the plurality of channels having an opening on an end of the material coupled to an air source that cause air to pass through the openings of the channels and exit through the perforations in the material.

Abstract: A hemostasis analyzer, such as the Thrombelastograph® (TEG®) hemostasis analyzer is utilized to measure continuously in real time, the hemostasis process from the initial fibrin formation, through platelet-fibrin interaction and lysis to generate blood hemostasis parameters. The measured blood hemostasis parameters permit preparation of an individualized assessment of ischemic event risk and individualized treatment of a subject.

Abstract: A variable drive transmission system is provided that includes at least one variable diameter gear coupled to a drive shaft at a hub of the variable diameter gear, the drive shaft provides a driving force that causes rotational movement in the first variable diameter gear. The variable diameter gear includes a spiral spring component that extends out of the hub of the first gear, coils spirally in a direction around the hub, and terminates openly on an outer surface of the variable diameter gear. The application of the driving force at the hub causes the spiral spring component to one of wind and unwind and as a result increase or decrease the diameter of the first variable diameter.

Abstract: A shoe is provided herewith that includes a heel having a centerline and cutout for a heel wear insert recessed into the heel; and a heel wear insert removably attached to the heel in the cutout for the heel wear insert. The heel wear insert has at least three curved sides around a perimeter of the heel wear insert. Each curve of the three sides of the heel wear insert is identical to the curve of the other of the sides of the heel wear insert, which allows the heel wear insert to be turned from a first position that provides a first wear edge, to a second position that provides a second wear edge, and third position that provides a third wear edge.

Abstract: A hemostasis analyzer, such as the Thrombelastograph® (TEG®) hemostasis analyzer is utilized to measure continuously in real time, the hemostasis process from the initial fibrin formation, through platelet-fibrin interaction and lysis to generate blood hemostasis parameters. The measured blood hemostasis parameters permit evaluation of hemostasis therapies including anticoagulation therapies such as direct thrombin inhibition therapies.

Abstract: Solar collection systems are provided herein that includes a mobile, self-tracking receiver support member which is suspended from a support beam spanning the two sides of an immobile solar trough concentrator. The self-tracking receiver support member has photovoltaic cells of equal power affixed to two or more downward facing surfaces of the support member. These photovoltaic cells face downward into the solar parabolic trough concentrator and respond to the concentrated light of the path of the points of focus being reflected upwards from a parabolic concentrator. The solar cells are wired to a DC electric motor so that the motor rotationally responds to the disparity in the power output of the solar cells. As the path of the points of focus of the solar concentrator moves to one side or the other of the center of the self-tracking support member, the motor automatically moves the support member, along with and the receiver it is carrying, into the parabolic concentrator's path of the points of focus.
