  • Patent number: 5056729
Abstract: The invention relates to the cutting of the web of rolled goods such as paper or plastic film and more specifically to the cutting and accurate dispensing of thin, tinted or coated plastic films used as a thermal barrier when bonded to window glass. A master roll is rotatably mounted. Film lengths are removed manually by pulling the film off the roll. A protective cover sheet is automatically stripped by a secondary roll. A counter indicates the length of material removed and a foot lever actuates a cutting blade to shear the length removed. A display indicates the length of film remaining on the supply roll.

  • Patent number: 5009170
Abstract: A padded table for body massage or chiropractic work having a flat working surface supported upon folding legs. Table construction includes two flat top sections joined by a piano hinge so that they may be folded into parallel adjacent positions to form a case like structure which is easily carried, or they may be unfolded to form a single planar table top. When unfolded, support legs hold the table top parallel to a support surface. A unique brace and cable configuration is employed which provides table rigidity, strength and easy, fast unfolding.

  • Patent number: 5003696
Abstract: A utility knife consisting of a flat blade holder is capable of being grasped from above. It contains opposing cutting blades mounted in slots in the holder such that each blade is clamped in place and may be laterally adjusted using a leverage system formed by several cuts in the holder itself. The holder has two guide surfaces joined at an obtuse angle so that when one is in contact with the material for cutting the other is elevated above it and vice versa. In use the first guide surface and blade is placed against the material for cutting and the holder is drawn in a first direction thereby cutting the material with the rearward facing blade until reaching a corner, whereby the forward raised blade abuts the corner. The forward guide edge and blade is lowered into contact with the material for cutting thereby raising the rearward blade and the holder is now drawn in the reverse direction thereby completing the cut without the need to turn the knife around or lift it from the cutting surface.
