    Abstract: A method for high speed dissemination of information about faults in spans that interconnect nodes in a telecommunication mesh-type network, the method comprises creating a Failure Updating channel (FU channel) in the network and circulating Failure updating messages (FU messages) via the FU channel between the network nodes, wherein each of the FU messages issued by a particular node is disseminated to its adjacent node(s) and carries information about all spans in the network currently available to the particular node, by presenting status indications of the spans in respective information slots of the FU message.

    Abstract: A method and a Network Element (NE) for manifesting alarms by forming a so called combined Data Quality Byte (DQB) for a particular SDH/SONET data transmission stream. The DQB indicates status of alarms at a particular location of the telecommunication network, via which the stream is transmitted. The DQB can be formed by arranging a plurality of alarm signals, currently actual for the particular data transmission stream, in a predetermined byte associated with the stream frame. The NE, upon receiving from an upstream network element a data transmission stream with its DQB1 formed upstream, creates an updated DQB2 and compares DQB1 with DQB2 to manifest an alarm status change ?DQB for estimating quality of transmission via the network section.

    Abstract: A method for preventing errors in transmission of a telecommunication signal via a network domain, involves transmitting the signal as a succession of binary data frames via two border points in the network domain, and each of the frames comprises a parity array of bits assigned for parity check and a temporary use array of bits assigned to serve at least one temporary data channel between the two border points. The method comprises a) transmitting, via the temporary data channel, additional information between the two border points with performing operation of parity compensation at each of the border points, in the parity array of each of the binary frames, b) obtaining an external command to cease transmission of the additional information via the temporary data channel, and c) executing the external command with performing a procedure of the temporary channels compensation at the border points.
