  • Patent number: 8688404
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide an apparatus for enabling common time-stamping. The apparatus includes a first subsystem having a first timer and a second subsystem having a second timer of a same frequency as the first timer. The first subsystem is configured to time-stamp first events based on the first timer. The second subsystem is configured to time-stamp second events based on the second timer. The apparatus further includes a synchronization module configured to take a first snapshot of the first timer and take a second snapshot of the second timer. Then, based on a difference between the first snapshot and the second snapshot, the first events and the second events are commonly time-stamped.

  • Patent number: 6973489
Abstract: A server monitoring system monitors the performance of a web site or other Internet server system, as seen by users in multiple geographic access locations, without the need for special monitoring software or hardware within such locations. Automated agents that run at a central data center generate message traffic that is used to access and monitor the server system from the multiple remote locations. The message traffic associated with a particular remote access location is transmitted from the data center to the remote location across a dedicated link, such as an ATM link, and is routed onto the Internet at a corresponding Internet access point. The server response to each request message flows back to the data center across the same link as the corresponding request message. The remote access points thus serve as virtual points of presence for monitoring purposes.

  • Patent number: 6503205
Abstract: A dual ultrasonic transducer probe and a method of utilizing the probe to determine a blood vessel diameter are presented. The probe comprises first and second ultrasound transducers whose ultrasound beams intercept at an acute angle, and which can be so disposed relative to a blood vessel's longitudinal axis that both their ultrasound beam axes intercept the blood vessel's longitudinal axis. The blood vessel diameter determination method is based on the creation of a two-dimensional matrix of complex reflection amplitude values for each of the beams along an axis of its propagation.
