  • Publication number: 20110040248
Abstract: A medication, method and device for cardiac treatment are provided, in particular, for treating supraventricular arrhythmias. Specifically, a method is provided for treating supraventricular arrhythmias, using a therapeutically effective amount of a cholinergic receptor agonist, for example, acetylcholine. This device may be part of universal device which provides pacing and defibrillation. In particular, the present invention can be used to treat atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter and atrial tachycardia by a bolus injection of a rapidly hydrolysable cholinergic receptor agonist such as acetylcholine.
    Type: Application
    Filed: August 17, 2010
    Publication date: February 17, 2011
    Applicant: CLOSED LOOP THERAPIES BV
Inventors: Eli Ovsyshcher, Ilya A. Fleidervish, Dan Gelvan

Specifically, a method is provided for treating supraventricular arrhythmias, using a therapeutically effective amount of a cholinergic receptor agonist, for example, acetylcholine. This device maybe part of universal device which provides pacing and defibrillation. • Patent number: 6463330
Abstract: A device for canceling unwanted excitation waves in an excitable tissue, particularly those causing cardiac tachyarrhythmias, which comprises circuitry for generating a unidirectional Device-Generated Excitation Wave (DGEW) in the tissue. The device comprises first and second stimulation electrodes, each fed by a power supply, which generate current impulses having magnitudes respectively lower and higher than the threshold level of the excitable tissue. The positions and activation timing of the electrodes are set so that the two impulses interact with each other only in one desired direction and every impulse except the desired DGEW decays.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 8, 1999
Date of Patent: October 8, 2002
Assignee: Ben-Gurion University of the Negev
    Inventors: Avinoam Rabinovitch, Eli Ovsyshcher
