  • Patent number: 10647905
Abstract: Methods and systems are presented in this disclosure for evaluating performance of cement fluid-loss-control additives and generating cement slurries with controlled fluid losses for cementing operations. A normalized pressure along a wellbore length can be first specified based on properties of the proposed cement slurry formulation and properties of the wellbore in a subterranean formation. A volume loss of a fluid of the proposed cement slurry formulation can be calculated using a model associated with the fluid obtained based at least in part on the normalized pressure and properties of the fluid. The proposed cement slurry formulation can be manipulated by adding one or more fluid-loss control additives to the proposed cement slurry formulation based on the calculated volume loss of the fluid to produce a preferred cement slurry.

  • Patent number: 8402518
Abstract: A system, method and computer program product are provided for managing authentication information for a user. According to the method, a master digital key is received from the user, and authentication of the user is obtained based on the master digital key. There is received from the user a selection of one identity from among a plurality of identities that are stored for the user. Authentication information for the user is provided into an application or web page based on the one identity selected by the user. In one embodiment, the authentication information is provided by recognizing a web page for which authentication information is stored, and automatically filling the authentication information for the user into appropriate elements of the web page.

  • Patent number: 8364690
Abstract: Disclosed are a method, information processing system, and computer program storage product for managing Resource Description Framework (“RDF”) graphs in a distributed system. At least one modification request for modifying an RDF graph in a shared data store is received. The modification request includes a query set, an expected result set, and a change set associated. The query set is a set of preconditions for guaranteeing a state of the RDF graph before executing the change set. The expected result set is results expected by the query. The change set is at least one statement that changes data elements in the RDF graph. The query is applied to the RDF graph at the shared data store. A result of the query is analyzed. A transaction request, which includes the change set, associated with the modification request is sent to a server information processing system communicatively coupled to the shared data storage.

  • Publication number: 20080077628
Abstract: Disclosed are a method, information processing system, and computer readable medium for managing data conflicts in a remote shared data store. The method includes receiving at least one modification request for a set of data elements stored in shared data storage. A unique identifier is generated for at least one of the modification request and a user interface element used to perform a modification associated with the modification request. A unique identifier associated with each data element to be modified is identified. A current state of the set of data elements is analyzed. A precondition value associated with the modification request is generated based on the current state of the set of data elements. The unique identifier of each data element is associated with the modification request. A transaction request associated with the modification request is sent to a server information processing system communicatively coupled to the shared data storage.

  • Patent number: 6795751
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for determining the proper mixture of substances (e.g. phosphors) or sources (e.g. of light) to obtain a required or desired property, such as color or chromaticity. Steps may include mixing the substances or sources, preparing a prototype, measuring the property (such as chromaticity) of the prototype, and calculating any required adjustment in the quantities of substances or sources. This process may be repeated until the desired property is achieved, after which the mix of substances or sources may be used to manufacture products. A computer spreadsheet is also disclosed, as an exemplary embodiment, which calculates any required adjustments in the quantities of substances or sources. The spreadsheet provided is specifically configured to calculate adjustments in phosphor quantities required for manufacturing lamps for backlighting in AMLCD avionics applications.

  • Publication number: 20030062196
Abstract: A circuit board includes a first layer of an electrically non-conducting material for carrying circuit components, and a second layer of an electrically conductive material for providing a common ground. At least one spot of a relatively more solderable material than the material of the second layer is in electrical contact with the second layer and is aligned with an opening through the first layer so that electrical connection can be made between the components on the first layer and the second layer by soldering to the spot. These anchor points provide a reliable way to connect circuit components to a common ground, from the top of the circuit board, without having to use backside screws and without having to penetrate the second layer.
