  • Patent number: 7710745
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a remotely controlled power supply system that can change output polarity at a high slew rate without using switching devices. The system comprises a control circuit and two individual high voltage DC-DC converter power supply sections, one positive and one negative, connected in series. By nature of the control circuitry, either a positive or negative controllable current is produced depending upon a programmed voltage input. The two individual power supply sections are each self-oscillating single transistor circuits. The self-oscillating circuits contain an RC network tuned to provide attenuation at the second harmonic of the natural oscillating frequency of the circuit. This reduces and/or eliminates the tendency of this circuit to begin oscillation at the wrong harmonic of the natural frequency. A power-on delay circuit is used to suppress the outputs of the two power supply sections no matter the command of the input control programming signal.

  • Publication number: 20080303505
Abstract: A self tuning high voltage power supply comprising a signal generator that emits a variable frequency signal, an amplifier that receives the variable frequency signal and emits an amplified variable frequency signal, and a transformer that receives and steps up the amplified variable frequency signal, creating an output voltage that corresponds to a desired voltage. A measuring unit measures the power consumed by the amplifier and provides a reading to a processing unit, which receives such reading and tunes the signal generator to emit a variable frequency signal that is at the frequency of resonance of the transformer. This causes the transformer to operate at conditions of resonance and to substantially eliminate power losses due to stray capacitance and stray inductance. As a consequence, the self tuning high voltage power supply can deliver the desired voltage with minimum power consumption.

  • Publication number: 20080174488
Abstract: The present invention involves a tracking antenna system with no moving parts that extends the range of wireless mobile links 16 to 256 times the range of regular omni-directional whip antennas. The antenna system comprises an array of antenna segments arranged in a sphere or circle, or other suitable geometry. Each antenna segment includes one or more antennas connected and combined in parallel. Each antenna segment feeds a tuner and subsequent diversity electronics that optimizes both the transmission and reception in order to achieve the best possible range. The antenna system can be used from unmanned air, ground, and surface vehicles to mobile ground stations in motion, as well as between flying planes, moving vehicles, sailing boats, or any combination thereof. The system may be expanded further to many more levels of architecture as required.

  • Patent number: 7346040
Abstract: A single cable or single antenna space-time fast modem system is described. Very high data transfer rates are accomplished using a space-time MIMO transceiver in combination with a unique space-time antenna reduction chamber and a frequency spectrum shifting module. The system readily connects to any existing communications infrastructure. The high speed data modem system incorporates a MIMO space-time wireless transceiver, yet unlike existing space-time wireless systems, requires only a single cable or antenna to achieve very high data transfer rates.

  • Patent number: 7170458
Abstract: The present invention involves an inflatable antenna system including an inflatable antenna and a mounting plate. The inflatable antenna includes an inflatable cone or cylinder and a plurality of conductors integrated therein. The mounting plate can be incorporated into a protective enclosure that holds and protects the inflatable antenna during transport, supports it during use, and provides a means for mounting it to a mast. The mounting plate serves as a mounting surface for the inflatable antenna, a radio frequency (RF) connector, an air intake valve, and an impedance matching network. Selected surfaces of the protective enclosure can be coated with conductive materials. An air intake valve allows for inflation and deflation of the inflatable antenna. Inflatable support members can be used in conjunction with a stabilizing portion comprised of a vertical member and attached weight, to allow the inflatable antenna system to be deployed in water.
