  • Publication number: 20240125267
Abstract: A charging system (20) of an internal combustion engine has a compressor (22) that compresses intake air (41) to a pressure higher than a boost pressure of the internal combustion engine. A first energy recovery turbine (25) recovers energy from an exhaust gas mass flow (45) discharged from a cylinder (12). The compressor (22) and the first energy recovery turbine (25) are disposed on a first shaft (31) and the recovered energy is transmitted directly to the compressor (22). A cooling turbine (24) expands and cools the (intake) air (41) compressed by the compressor (22) to the boost pressure required by the cylinder (12). A second energy recovery turbine (26) recovers energy from the exhaust gas mass flow (45). The second energy recovery turbine (26) and the cooling turbine (24) are on a common second shaft (32), and the second shaft (32) is coupled to at least one energy sink.

  • Patent number: 10844867
Abstract: An exhaust gas turbocharger for an internal combustion engine, particularly of a motor vehicle, is disclosed. The exhaust gas turbocharger includes a bearing housing having at least one through hole for a rotor of the exhaust gas turbocharger for supporting the rotor. At least one housing cover is connected to the bearing housing such that the through hole is sealed at least partially in the axial direction of the exhaust gas turbocharger. The housing cover is connected to the bearing housing by exactly one threaded element having an external thread, which threaded element is screwed to the bearing housing by its external thread and a corresponding internal thread of the bearing housing.

  • Patent number: 10619647
Abstract: A guide vane for a diffuser of a radial compressor which is arranged downstream of a receiving area for a compressor wheel is disclosed. The guide vane has a skeleton line where the skeleton line is elliptical at least in a sub-region.

  • Patent number: 10371169
Abstract: A noise reflector for a compressor of a turbomachine, in particular an exhaust gas turbocharger, is provided. The noise reflector includes at least one form-locking element with a direction of longitudinal extension, by way of which the noise reflector can be fastened to a housing part of the compressor such that a form-locking connection is produced, and the direction of longitudinal extension of the form-locking element goes in the axial direction.
