Abstract: The present application relates to surgical clip appliers having a plurality of clips for applying the clips to body tissues and vessels during surgical procedures and their methods of use and specifically to a reusable counter mechanism for use with a surgical clip applier. The surgical clip applier includes a housing, at least one handle pivotably connected to the housing, a channel assembly extending distally from the housing, a plurality of clips loaded in the channel assembly, a drive channel translatably supported in the housing and the channel assembly and being translatable upon actuation of the at least one handle, and a reusable counter mechanism removably insertable into a counter slot extending into the housing and engagable with the drive channel. The counter mechanism is configured display indicia corresponding to a quantity of clips and to update the indicia upon translation of the drive channel.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a kit including a balloon dissector assembly to facilitate forming an anatomical space within the body of a patient during a surgical procedure. The dissector assembly includes an elongate shaft and a plurality of detachable balloons that are releasably connectable to the distal end of the elongate shaft. The balloons are of various shapes and sizes to permit a health care practitioner such as a surgeon to select a balloon having a configuration best suited for the surgical procedure being performed. The kit also includes spacers that may be releasably attached to an elongate shaft of the balloon dissector by a surgeon for limiting the depth of insertion of the elongate shaft of the dissector assembly into a body of a patient.

Abstract: A specimen retrieval device is provided. The specimen retrieval device includes a housing that includes an outer shaft extending distally therefrom. An inner shaft is disposed within the outer shaft and includes a spring including two or more members. One or both of the members includes a support member interface member. A pouch is releasably couplable to the members and includes a cinch having a proximal end that is passable through the outer shaft for grasping by a user. The pouch includes a pair of openings that lead to a sleeve that is provided on the pouch. Each of the openings is configured to receive a respective one of the members so as to allow the support member interface member on the member(s) to engage a corresponding pocket on the pouch.
