Abstract: A flexible ribbon speaker is disclosed. A flexible conductive membrane is placed within an appropriately shaped magnetic field formed by a flexible magnet assembly in such a way that current passing through the membrane interacts with the magnetic field, causing the membrane to vibrate and produce sound. The design of the membrane and of the magnet assembly, along with additional structural elements allows the speaker to be bent. Due to its flexibility, the ribbon speaker of the invention can be located in places that were hitherto inconvenient.
