Abstract: The invention provides a system for cataloguing, displaying and retrieving information and for ordering and acquiring spare parts and/or accessories for vehicles for locomotion by land, by air or by water, the system incorporating (1) a host processor, including (a) means for entering and storing alphanumeric data and graphics concerning the general characteristics of a vehicle and the parts and accessories thereof; (b) means for arranging the spare parts and accessories into groups and sectors in accordance with their locations within the structure, or functions of, the vehicle; (c) means for entering data concerning the availability and cost of the spare parts and accessories; (d) means enabling the selection of a specific spare part or accessory and for displaying data and/or graphics from means (b) and (c), and (2) terminals connectable to communication networks for ordering selected spare parts and/or accessories from manufacturers and/or distributors.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for adapting a digital representation of a first color image for output representation by an output device having spatial and color characteristics are disclosed. The apparatus includes apparatus for modifying the spatial characteristics of the digital representation of the first color image and the color characteristics of the first color image to correspond to the spatial and color characteristics of the output device such that, in an output representation, the color characteristics of the first color image would be substantially preserved. The method includes the step of modifying the spatial characteristics of the digital representation of the first color image and the color characteristics of the first color image to correspond to the spatial and color characteristics of the output device such that, in an output representation, the color characteristics of the first color image would be substantially preserved.

Abstract: A system for proofing which includes color scanning apparatus for scanning an input image and for producing a plurality of color separation signals corresponding to color values in the input image, proofing apparatus for producing a proof of the input image and color modification apparatus, connected between the color scanning apparatus and the proofing apparatus, for capturing the color separation signals while the color scanning apparatus scans the input image and for modifying the color separation signals to produce the proof.
