Abstract: A thread tap adapter for interfacing a driving device with a thread tap to assist in the engagement of the driving device to the thread tap. The thread tap adapter having a retention element for engaging the thread tap at a position remote from the drive portion of the thread tap to maintain the engagement of the thread tap adapter to the thread tap. The retention element also provides a secondary transfer point by which the rotational force applied to the thread tap adapter by the driving device is more efficiently transferred to the thread tap. The thread tap adapter can also comprise at least one radially extending flanges for engaging the driving device and prevent the driving device from inadvertently slipping off the adapter by sliding axially along the thread tap adapter.

Abstract: A socket extension and related methods of utilizing a socket extension that improves upon conventional designs through the use of a shaped body allowing the socket extension to be manipulated with an appropriate tool at any point along the shaped body. Through the use of the shaped body, a user is provided multiple engagement points such that interference due to the proximity of other structures or other accessibility issues can be overcome. In addition, the shaped body presents the opportunity to utilize a plurality of tools on the same socket extension when additional force/torque is necessary to loosen and/or tighten a bolt.

Specifically, the thread tap adapter may include an outer surface having a substantially hexagonal profile so that the adapter may be engaged with a wrench, and an inner surface having a substantially square profile so that the adapter engages the driving end of a standard thread tap. The adapter may additionally include means for securing the standard thread tap.

Abstract: A portable workstation and related methods of using a portable workstation in a vehicle or similar remote location. The portable workstation includes a protective case enclosing a peripheral mounting frame. The peripheral mounting frame includes a mounting sheet, a vertical support member and a peripheral support assembly. The peripheral support assembly includes a pivoting base assembly attached to a rotatable arm assembly. The pivoting base assembly has a first mounting sheet for positioning a first peripheral device. The pivoting base assembly and rotatable arm assembly provide at least three degrees of freedom for orienting the first peripheral device. An accessory support sheet is rotatably mounted to the first mounting sheet such that an accessory device can be utilized with the first peripheral device. The portable workstation can include a second peripheral support assembly for mounting a second peripheral device. The base portion can include telescoping legs providing a self-supporting workstation.
