  • Publication number: 20210022541
Abstract: A pot protecting ring accessory for use with an electric pressure cooker when the lid is open and being used for activities like adding ingredients, sautéing, searing, serving, boiling, stirring, or other heating. The protective ring is desirably heat resistant and may be constructed of a rigid or semi-rigid material or may be a silicone ring with more flexibility. The protective ring shields the cooker's upper rim and particularly the drain channel and space between the inner cooking pot and the outer housing. Protecting the heat element and pressure sealing area from debris and boil overs extends the life and safe use of the pressure cooker. The ring doubles as a heat guard between the user's hand and the hot cooker body and the ring may be grabbed or pressed to create friction with the inner pot brim, inhibiting its spinning during cooking operations like stirring and serving.

  • Patent number: 8332842
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for creating an application restore point when an application is installed or updated and for restoring the application and other elements of a computing system modified by the installation and update processes to a state as they exist at the application restore point. The application restore point captures information about which files are modified, created, or deleted by the installation and update processes. In one embodiment, a user invokes an installer process to install or update the application. When the installer process modifies or creates a file, an original copy of the file, or a reference to the file is placed into the application restore point. To restore the application, files of the computing system having original copies in the application restore point are replaced with the original copies while all new files referred to in the application restore point are deleted.

  • Publication number: 20100014646
Abstract: A device for transmitting TTY communications includes an input for receiving analog tones from a TTY device, a first output for connecting to a public telephone switch network (PSTN) and a second output for connecting to digital communications network. The device is configured to operate in a first mode and a second mode. In the first mode the device receives the analog tones at the input and transmits the analog tones over the PSTN through the first output. In the second mode, the device receives the analog tones at the input, converts the analog tones into transmission control protocol (TCP) packets and transmits the TCP packets over a digital communications network through the second output.

  • Publication number: 20070269779
Abstract: This invention provides a device for the workplace, which supports communication while providing entertainment and supporting communication between one or more users. The present invention provides a spherical structure wherein a first hemispherical chamber and a second hemispherical chamber can be separated to reveal an internal writing surface. A user can then record a written message on this writing surface. The first hemispherical chamber and the second hemispherical chamber can then be joined again. Once closed, the spherical structure can be tossed, or alternately reopened to expose the writing surface. This provides one or more users with a way to communicate.

  • Patent number: 5841855
Abstract: A menu level indicator facilitates ease of use of a telephone terminal by a user by providing easily understandable information about selectable menu options available in an interactive display on the telephone terminal. The menu level indicator provides a visual indication for permitting the user to directly determine the number of menu options available while at one of multiple selectable menu levels in the menu. The menu level indicator also provides a visual indication for the user as to the relative position of a displayed, selectable menu option with respect to other selectable menu options commonly located at one of the multiple selectable menu levels. As a user maneuvers through the menu levels, such user is able to quickly develop a mental model of the feature menus and easily navigate through these menu selections.

  • Patent number: 5774540
Abstract: A user of a telephone terminal with an interactive display is provided complete access to all feature choices in a hierarchical menu through a minimum number of menu keys. These menu keys include a "Next" key, a "Back" key, a "Select" key and a "Home" key. These menu keys occupy minimal space on the housing of the telephone terminal, yet enable the user of the terminal to easily scroll to and select every feature in the interactive display. The user is able to quickly develop a mental model of the feature choices and easily navigate through these menu selections. Context-sensitive functionality also is provided for using the interactive display. As a user completes a command function, the feature choice presented to the user for this function is the one most likely to be accessed by the user, thus advantageously avoiding the necessity of having a dedicated key for allowing the user to select this feature choice.
