  • Patent number: 10537070
Abstract: A method of producing a mycological composite material comprises inoculating a substrate of fibrous material with an inoculum of mycelial tissue; rolling the inoculated substrate into a roll; and thereafter incubating the rolled inoculated substrate for a time sufficient for the mycelial tissue to grow hyphae that enmesh with the substrate to form a cohesive unified filamentous network with the rolled inoculated substrate being characterized in being flexible. The rolled inoculated substrate may be subsequently processed by subjecting lengths of the roll to heat and pressure in molds to form rigid products.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 15, 2016
Date of Patent: January 21, 2020
    Assignee: Ecovative Design LLC
Inventors: Jeffrey Daniel Betts, Gregory John Tudryn, Courtney Elizabeth Hart
  • Publication number: 20190377914
Abstract: A universal radio frequency identification reader and emulation handheld device and system configured to read and emulate radio frequency identification tags in the low frequency, high frequency, and ultra-high frequency spectrums (from 30 kHz to 1050 MHz). The system may include a mobile or a web application to control and interact with the handheld device. The system may allow for the saving of radio frequency identification tag information in cloud infrastructure for later emulation.

  • Patent number: 9555395
Abstract: A method of producing an absorbent biocompatible material which comprises mixing at least one mycological material, such as a fungus or fungal tissue, with at least one lignocellulosic material to provide a biocomposite material comprising the at least one mycological material and the at least one lignocellulosic material. The biocomposite material then is contacted with at least one substance that increases the hydrophilicity of the biocomposite material, thereby providing an absorbent biocomposite material that has a variety of uses, such as absorbent materials for use in vegetation propagation and preservation, animal bedding, animal litter, filler in diapers, cold chain materials for temperature regulation, ice packs, absorbent foams and mats, such as decorative floral arrangement foams, carpet mats, and absorbent booms applied to chemical spills.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: January 31, 2017
    Assignee: ECOVATIVE DESIGN LLC

  • Publication number: 20080020438
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a unicellular organism system, such as a yeast, for producing geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate and a diterpene in vivo. The yeast cell preferably comprises an inducible nucleic acid sequence encoding geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate synthase, an inducible nucleic acid sequence encoding a soluble form of HMG-CoA reductase, a nucleic acid sequence of an allele that confers an increase in sterol metabolic flux and, in the diterpene-producing cell, a diterpene synthase.

  • Publication number: 20050202814
Abstract: A telecommunications system (600) distributes text-to-speech synthesis (900) between a telephone network (603) and a telephone subscriber unit (602). The telephone network (603) receives (1102) a telephone call from a first telephone subscriber unit (601) over a first communication channel (604) intended for a second telephone subscriber unit (602), determines (1103) that the second telephone subscriber unit (602) subscribes to a speech-based caller identification service provided by the telephone network (603), converts (1107) text information (707), representing the caller identification of the first telephone subscriber unit (601) into symbols (708), encodes (1108) the symbols (708) to form a data stream (709), opens (1109) a second communication channel (605) between the telephone network (603) and the second telephone subscriber unit (602), and sends (1110) the data stream (709) to the second telephone subscriber unit (602) over the second communication channel (605).
