Patent number: 9197634Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for client and/or server authentication are provided. In one embodiment, a method includes sending information from a mobile network device to a server, wherein the information comprises a seed that is used by both the mobile network device and the server to compute a series of one time passwords. The method also includes receiving, by the mobile network device, a succession of one time passwords generated by the server throughout a session. And the method further includes comparing the received one time passwords generated by the server throughout the session to corresponding one time passwords generated at the mobile network device. In this manner, the server can be authenticated. In various embodiments, the process may be reversed to facilitate client authentication, e.g., mobile network device authentication.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2014Date of Patent: November 24, 2015Assignee: PAYPAL, INC.Inventors: Upendra Mardikar, Kent Griffin, Allison Elizabeth Miller, Amol Patel

Patent number: 8735091Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method for inactivation and/or extraction of acid-fast bacteria (e.g., mycobacteria or nocardia), the method comprising the following sequential steps: (a) acquiring a test sample known to contain or that may contain acid-fast bacteria and suspending the test sample in a container containing ethanol and beads; (b) bead beating and/or vortexing the container to break up clumps and/or disrupt acid-fast bacteria cells in the container; and (c) subsequently incubating the suspension for at least about 3 minutes at room temperature to inactivate any acid-fast bacteria contained in the test sample. In accordance with the present invention, the test sample can subsequently be pelleted by centrifugation, resuspended with formic acid, acetonitrile added, and subjected to mass spectrometry for characterization and/or identification of the acid-fast bacteria.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2013Date of Patent: May 27, 2014Assignee: BioMerieux, Inc.Inventors: Jones M. The plurality of positions includes a first position, where the accessory tray and the plurality of frame members are configured to provide a portable storage case. In a second position, a first work surface is secured relative to the frame members, with the first pair of frame members positioned at a distance from the second pair of frame members. In a third position, a second work surface is secured relative to the frame members. A work surface support, coupled to the first and second work surfaces, is pivoted about a longitudinal axis of the frame when adjusting the position of the adjustable easel.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 2, 2013Publication date: April 3, 2014Applicant: Crayola LLCInventors: Elizabeth Miller, Anthony P. Patent number: 8311260Abstract: A miniature audio earphone includes a pair of audio earphones, an electrical connector adapted for making a selectively detachable physical and electrical connection to a source of stereo audio signals, a generally Y-shaped electrical lead assembly having a bifurcated upper portion and an adjoining lower portion, whose lower end is coupled to the connector. The upper portion has a pair of branch leads each of which is coupled to a respective one of said earphones. A plurality of exteriorly disposed mechanical shielding elements at least partially surrounds an underlying portion of at least one of said branch leads to resist damage to the lead assembly due to abrasion, crushing, kinking and cutting without unduly impairing the flexibility of the assembly or causing it to have an unattractive appearance. A tensile stress-relief line is also provided for resisting damage to the upper portion of the assembly due to tension.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2008Date of Patent: November 13, 2012Assignee: Seaborn II, LLCInventor: Elizabeth Miller

Patent number: 7836429Abstract: Computer method and apparatus for managing software configuration repositories are disclosed. In a plurality of repositories each repository holds a respective set of change-request objects. One of the repositories in the plurality is a primary repository, and the other repositories are working repositories. In the primary repository, there is a respective proxy object for each change-request object of interest in a working repository. Each proxy object has a corresponding associated change-request object in the primary repository. For a given proxy object, changes made to the respective change-request object of interest in the working repository are mapped to the associated change-request object in the primary repository and vice versa.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2006Date of Patent: November 16, 2010Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Geoffrey M. Publication number: 20070239125Abstract: An absorbent article is provided that includes a liquid pervious top layer, a liquid impervious back layer and an absorbent core disposed therebetween. A plurality of acquisition members are disposed between the top layer and the core. The acquisition members are disposed parallel with a longitudinal length of the core in a configuration that retards strikethrough time. A portion of the top layer may be deformed to form a predetermined pattern. The predetermined pattern may be in spatial alignment with the acquisition members in a configuration that retards strikethrough time. Alternatively, the absorbent article includes a film layer disposed between the core and the back layer.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 8, 2005Publication date: October 11, 2007Inventors: Edward Erdman, Dane Jackson, Elizabeth Miller

Publication number: 20060069376Abstract: The invention includes an absorbent article comprising a front section and a back section. The front and back sections are each configured to be positioned against the front and back, respectively, of a wearer of the absorbent article. At least one extension extends between the front and back sections, and the extension has ends coupled to the front and back sections. The front and back sections and the extension together define a continuous waist of the absorbent article. A fastener is applied to the article, and a portion of the waist folds together to adjust the size of the waist.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2004Publication date: March 30, 2006Inventors: Elizabeth Miller, Dane Jackson, Nicole Divittore
