  • Publication number: 20080286881
Abstract: Compositions are disclosed. One embodiment of a composition comprises a first antibody having an affinity for an antigen and a second antibody having an affinity for the first antibody, wherein at least one antibody is conjugated to a marker, and wherein the antigen is not present in the composition. Further disclosed are methods of using compositions according to the invention for analyzing a biological sample by antibody profiling for identifying forensic samples or detecting the presence of an analyte. In embodiments of the invention, the analyte is a drug, such as marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine, methyltestosterone, or mesterolone. Forensic samples are identified by comparing a sample from an unknown source with a sample from a known source. Further, an assay, such as a test for illegal drug use, may be coupled to a test for identity such that the results of the assay may be positively correlated to the subject's identity.

  • Patent number: 7003981
Abstract: Using sol-gel techniques, an optical gain medium has been fabricated comprising a glass ceramic host material that includes clusters of crystalline oxide material, especially tin oxide, and that is doped with active ions concentrated at the clusters. The active ions are preferentially located at the nanoclusters so that they experience the relatively low phonon energy of the oxide and are insensitive to the phonon energy of the host. A host with a high phonon energy, such as silica, can therefore be used without the usual drawback of reduced carrier lifetimes through enhanced nonradiative decay rates.

  • Patent number: 6050569
Abstract: The present invention consists of a card game in which the players make two card hands where each hand consists of two cards. A deck of thirty-two cards where the deck consists of fifteen ranking pairs lettered A through 0 and two Jokers is used. All of the cards also have a point value, i.e., a numerical value. The letter ranking pairs are the highest hands except for the two Jokers, which are the highest when together and make 99. When the Jokers are together, each has a point value of nine, but when they are separate, each is wild and is to be used as either a six or a three, but has no letter value. Aside from the two Jokers and the fifteen ranking pairs, there are six other combinations better than a point value.

  • Patent number: 5818451
Abstract: A computer in which entry of data from an area provided on a display, touch screen or the like is accomplished by the provision of a "soft keyboard". Misentry of data is avoided by providing for the adjustment of the input by raising the area of input by a fixed percentage of the size of the target soft key.

  • Patent number: 5803548
Abstract: A collapsible chair apparatus includes a pair of planar side panels each of which includes a lower side panel portion which includes a front lower region and a rear lower region. Each side panel also includes an upper side panel portion which extends upward from the rear lower region. A front slot extends into the front lower region. A lower rear slot extends into the rear lower region. An upper rear slot extends into the upper side panel portion and is coplanar with the lower rear slot. A planar back panel includes a pair of lower back slots which are registrable with the lower rear slots of the side panels. A pair of upper back slots in the back panel are registrable with the upper rear slots of the side panels. A lock-tab receiving channel is present in the back panel and is coplanar with the front slots of the side panels. A seat assembly includes a planar seat panel and a spacer element which projects downward from a front portion of the seat panel.
